ZOMG XBOX360 VS. PS3 VS. WII ZOMG

The best console dosen't have to have the best graphics, or new controls, it has to have great games, and i reckon its a tie between the 360 and the wii. But i want a 360 so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

The PS3 is more powerful than the Xbox 360. Although the way the PS3 was designed makes it difficult to use it too 100% or near that percentage. It's a programmer's nightmare of sorts.

PS3 ports are done half-assed, it's not entirely the console's fault but it's the developer's fault.

There is no console that's better than the other, they all have their good and bad. If you only like Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft and you hate everything else (fanboy), you're no better than the people who stick with one political party and stick to it and just follow for no reason. Often you'll say stupid things.

 

Except DreamCast.

everyone is still thinking about the tech of these systems. it isn't the tech because if it was none of them would be considered as the pc would dominate all but it doesn't. in the end it's all about the software that matters.

the 360 beats the ps3 because the 360 has a better library then the ps3. you can't deny it but the ps3 has a very weak library. someone will say, metal gear solid 4 on ps3, who gives a damn when you have games like gears of war or mass effect for the 360.

the only disadvantage that one would never consider the 360 over the ps3 is the defects. i would never buy the 360 because of the defects i hear about it. because of that i would never buy one and it's the reason why i opted the ps3 over the 360 when buying to play resident evil 5 and street fighter 4. microsoft could have clearly solved this problem by now but they have ignored it by simply offering a patch and to me and most of us consumers that is not good enough. this is indicative that microsoft doesn't care about their customers as they don't go the extra mileage for the better of their customers.

where the 360 fails is the online play. nintendo and sony has theirs for free and even the pc so i don't see why microsoft can't have it for free.

i don't want to comment on nintendo because it's a sad story. it's a sad story because third parties no longer care about making games for their customers. you don't find the sort of effort you get with the 360/ps3 on the wii because developers don't care about these new gamers. this is also indicative that third parties don't like nintendo.

Microsoft does care about their customers-they lose more than they win by changing RROD'd starter 360's.
360 has the best online out there now-Im talking about content. But for MP, Ps3 can support up to 256.

Of an owner of all three consoles, to be honest i would go with the Ps3 because of its free online play, graphics, and a lot of the free stuff is really good, but the xbox you have to nearly pay for everything (except games =P ) but the 360 comes closely its more like PS3 9.5/10 360 8.5-9/10

 

Saying which exclusives are better is subjective. You're talking about MAG, which is the only PS3 game that supports 256, if MS wanted to make a game like that they could.

Judging if the software is better or not is entirely subjective. I don't think Killzone 2 is that great, and I don't think Mass Effect is that great either. There's also some games that will NEVER come to the Xbox or the Playstation. Valkyria Chronicles is never going to come out on the 360, just like how Xbox's key shooter games are never going to come out on the PS3.

Wat. Paying 5 dollars a month is nothing, the reason why you pay this fee is because Microsoft hosts all the downloadable stuff on the market place. Microsoft handles a lot of the dashboard and hosting stuff, the company doesn't deal with that. Unlike PSN, where the companies who make the games host the DLC and online servers themselves. Which isn't the greatest thing, I've encountered more lag on PSN than XBL, and PSN downloading is slower than XBL. Also for stuff like custom soundtracks over games and cross game chat, Microsoft handles all that so all the games have this feature. While Sony doesn't do this and have actually suffered because of it, Sony was going to add cross game chat but a few earlier PS3 games didn't work for it.

Also stuff like Achievements and friends lists that are incoporated in every game on the Xbox is also why XBL is the superior service. PS3's trophy system is just an add-on that they rushed so they can compete with Xbox's system. I say rushed because every time you want to see your trophies or compare them your console has to download/sync the data. Versus Xbox just having them on the console.

Wii's online is a joke and is a complete mess compared to both PSN and XBL. This is something that's fact, well, the part where Wii's online is worse than PSN and XBL. Voice chat is only for a couple of games, and there is no global friends list to join people's game across games, friend codes, downloads (no hard drive) etc.

They care, I'm sure they aren't happy that they have to repair tons of consoles. Also they extended their hardware warranty so it lasts 3 years. I know quite a bit of people's Xbox that haven't broke and don't show any signs of it. I think Sony's warranty is 90 days, I know a few people who's PS3 died and had to either buy a new console or get it repaired (for money).

Notice that this topic doesn't include PC.

This topic is no debate, it's only a clash of opinions. If you don't have all three consoles you're missing out on something, announcing your stupid exclusivity to whatever company or console is stupid and only shows your ignorance to all the good games coming out on the other systems. gg

It's entirely subjective if you like a game better than the other. I like Bionic Commando a lot, but you don't hear a lot of great things about it. I totally hate Oblivion and Fallout 3, I hate Final Fantasy, I hate Lost Odysee, I hate Ninja Gaiden 2. I also think MAG is going to be a huge disappointment, but you hear tons of people gushing about it.

A lot of these will probably conflict with someone elses opinion, that means it's subjective.

Liking any of these three systems any better than another is an opinion. None of them are better than the other, they all have their negatives and their positives.

 

the 360 is better then the ps3 in terms of software. this is no doubt a fact and isn't an opinion. if you compare nintendo ds to the psp, the nintendo ds is better then the psp simply because the software on the ds is abundant as compared to the psp. this is one reason why the turnover rate for the ps3 is greater then the 360 because of the amount of software that these gamers are in access with are greater if they buy a 360 as opposed to the ps3.

pc isn't included in the debate but it's used as a model. you say that microsoft performs all these maintenance services and it's a justifiable reason. well if you consider the pc, a company like blizzard, as well as many others, they also perform the same type of services as what microsoft offers to their customers, and are offered for free, like battlenet for instance, yet microsoft makes you pay for it. mass effect, on 360 you paid to play online but on pc you play for free. halo you paid for online service on the 360 but on pc you play for free. on oblivion and morrowwind you paid on 360, on the pc you play for free. microsoft is simply gutting you out.

 

The amount of software doesn't equal the greatest quality of software. You know, Quality over quantity? The 360 DOES have more games, that's a fact, that doesn't mean that, that means it's better, oh no no. I like the same amount of games as each console, or about. I like my PS3 games more than my 360 games, that's why talking about software is entirely subjective. Debating whether or not which of the three consoles are better, is subjective, this isn't much of a debate, as most topics are in this forum.

What are you smoking? Mass Effect, Oblivion, and Morrowind aren't even games you can play online. Morrowind isn't even on the Xbox 360. And the first Halo didn't even have online on the original Xbox, Halo 2 is for the original Xbox (and the PC version didn't come out until about 2 or 3 years after) and Halo 3 isn't on the PC.

Your argument is somewhat valid (except your list of games is questionable and shows your validity), but the 60$ a year you pay for Xbox Live is going towards Microsoft's hosting servers to host content. The developers (DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS) don't host the DLC at all, Microsoft handles all that, and it takes up a lot of room. Xbox Live Arcade games are going to be up to 2 gigs, all the music games DLC, expansions etc etc. Microsoft is hosting ALL OF THAT. The cost of having this large amount of content and then considering that people have to download from the servers, 5 dollars a month is justified.

Even if you pay 5 dollars a month for Xbox Live, it's still better than PSN and Wii's online. Microsoft did the right thing from the start with the Xbox, they enabled online play on a mass scale for a console. PS2/Wii(lol) was late with this and Sony is/Nintendo is still paying the price.

 

Xbox 360 has better games IMO. It has HALO which is the best FPS IMO. PS3 & WII have their perks but they arent as good as havin HALO lol

 

Wii owners are fine with metroid series.

I have nothing else to add since the wii lacks technical ability and people these day's want the games to look good-I could care less about graphics.

As long as it doesn't look like my brother amde it and the game "plays/feels" right I'm fine with it.

...plus I'm a retro bargin gamer-not enough money for another system...

Hence why I managed to play resident evil 5 on my laptop (JUST playable) rather than locate a ps3 60GB model (for ps2 games-before I used an emulator)...

Though I will miss out on mgs4

 

I just dont like a person who says "360 rox becouse of halo". Halo is just a lil great than an average game.

Halo's a real FPS. The first was new at the time, then other games copied Halo to the point where an FPS like it is called generic and even Halo falls in that, because that type of FPS is so damn popular. Although it's vehicle usage in the story is unlike any other, I haven't played an FPS which such great use of vehicle sections.
