ZOMG XBOX360 VS. PS3 VS. WII ZOMG

Doesn't necessarily have "no" graphics. Then, how do you explain Other M? I heard it was pretty good for a console with "shitty graphics".

 

I didn't say it had "no graphics", I said that the graphics are not worth paying money for.

 

I don't know about you but, graphics don't mean that much to me as long as I can have fun. IF people find the Wii fun, they would buy it regardless of graphics. Oh yeah, more Wii's sold compared to either the xbox or the ps3. I would totally buy a wii just for the retro nintendo games, regardless of graphics.

i could care less about graphics. i liked the GB pokemon graphics better than this half 3d crap we got on DS.

 

let's forget about the handheld and think about the consoles for a moment because the comparison of graphics are much greater on the consoles then the handheld. so in respect to the 360/ps3/wii consoles, would you still say that graphics doesn't make a difference?

Judging on all of the console sales for the xbox/wii/ps3, the Wii is currently winning out. With that in mind, Do you think graphics still matter?

graphic whores are real gamers as they are known as hardcore gamers. the non-real gamers are known as the casual gamers. when wii is mentioned, it's suddenly a focus of different markets. natewlie mentions how the sales of the wii should not be considered serious because the people who own the wii aren't real gamers, aka hardcore gamers. but when a discussion of ps3/360, it's a discussion of real gamers and how the games on these two consoles are more serious, emotional, etc.....!

Graphics whores are not real gamers as they don't care about the games themselves, they care about graphics and graphics only. People seem to lose sight of the fact that gaming is about fun. You don't just play games for the sake of playing games. Whether or not a game is classified as hardcore is irrelevant. It's still a game and its still fun. All consoles have their own good games but, in my opinion, the Wii has more fun games therefore it is the better choice. Sales and all that other crap prove nothing.

As you mentioned, "Graphics whores" are real gamers. And what standard are you using? Real gamers play bad games even though they have great graphics? I don't get it.

Why can't you discuss why the Wii has more sales than either a ps3 or an xbox? If you worked at either marketing department of Sony or Microsoft, you would WANT to know why your system doesn't sell as much as the Wii. This is an debate on which console is better. It's clearly opinionated.

"Real Gamers" is a term I really dislike. Anyone who plays games is a "real gamer", the graphic whores, the hardcore gamers, casual players, the nanas who play tetris and dr mario, the people who only play farmville and bejeweled, the dudes who shove coins down arcade machines. To say there is a group of "real gamers" is to imply there is a group of "fake gamers". Elitist bullshit at its best.

I am not a casual gamer in the strict sense of the term, I have a good library of games but I only play for 1 or 2 hours at a time and I have some days where I don't play at all. The most time I've spent playing was an all nighter on Heavy Rain but that was definitely a one off.

 

Man you brough here some points I agree with you, but y'know, people tend to be rivals, "mine is better than yours no matter what".
PS3 vs. 360, ATI Radeon vs. Nvidia, Intel vs. AMD, casual vs. hardcore...
...that's all bullshit, the what matters is that we all are gamers and we shoulda all be more united.

 

this is a great comment because this finally means the wii is the most popular video game console on the market as 74 million people have bought the unit. finally someone besides me have seen it!
i've been telling people that the wii is successful but people kept saying it's not fair because it's for casuals. but now we have a person who admits it's actually for gamers as you can't deny those sales figure!
