To summarize it, if my game does not freeze in my first duel and I was able to load my save from the time I created my character, the patch is working fine is that it?

It does not work on my R4 although i patched the ROM....

I'm running an m3 simply with latest firmware and this refuses to work. I tried the xdelta patch and it never just gives me the generic error you get when you run the clean rom. I also tried running YSMenu with the clean rom -- which gave me the same error, and YSMenu with the patched rom -- which gave me a boot loader error.

Any suggestions?

Ok, people I'll tell how I got it working...

Works for SD SDHC and regular R4(???)

1. Download this file... (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KAHTVQ8K)
(credit to the guys at gbatemp)
2. Put extracted files on the root of SD Chip (USB)...
3. When done unplug usb and put SD Chip onto SD Card...
4. Turn on DS and look for something called YSMenu.nds....
5. Click it and it will ask for a .sav file, do it...
6. After that look for a rom you want to play (in this case Yu-gi-oh 2010) and it should work....

(Use a Clean rom file to play and have the latest kernel from the sdhc website..)

I am playing with the prepatched rom on the Supercard DS ONE.
And so far I've survived the first duel without any freezing. So far it works for me.
I will play further to see if it will freeze.

Well I have played a few hours so I think it's safe to assume it works for the SuperCard DS One with the prepatched rom.
So anyone who has a supercard, get the prepatched and there will be no problems.

I'm new to this whole patching deal. I have an R4 (NDSL) and I've done the patch in the OP. There's no change to the file size of the patched file and both the patched/unpatched files give me the "cannot read data" error.

I tried what was posted by asleepsky and now I'm getting ERROR: r4patch.dat No_Boot_Loader

OK guys got mine working on NO$GBA v2.6a

1. Get a clean ROM
2. Download on the following link the firmware we're going to use

3. Backup your NO$GBA (or not if you're feeling confident)
4. Copy "firmware.bin" from the file you just downloaded. It's up to you what language to choose but I chose English so I haven't tried the others.
5. Open "NO$GBA.INI". Search for "Firmware boot == manual" and change it to
"Firmware boot == firmware.bin".
6. In the game, use the action replay code below:

for everybody having a R4 orinal or clone with that problem:
"can not read data. take out the card and put it in again" or
some thing like that ( im german so my message ist german too).
get YSmenu. it realy works but you still have to use the prepatch.

That xdelta fix is on a retarded site full of popups and redirects, could anyone possibly rapidshare it for me?

 

Same problem as Luca; I used the prepatched version and YSmenu for the original R4. Still getting the r4patch.dat No_Boot_Loader error.

 

I tried the xDelta patch that was on DS-scene and the game freezes on turn 4 still -___- This is getting agitating.

AKAIO 1.6 just out ... claims to of fixed this rom?
