how many generations/evoloutions have digimon?

 

? If you're talking about seasons, I believe they have 5, the ones which I know:
1. The good ol' season one with 7 kids as the chosen one (later Hikari joins the party). - Agumon came first here.
2. Season 2 continues the story of Season one, the one with armor digivolution. - Veemon came first here.
3. Season 3 starts anew, it's that card using thingy. - Guilmon came first here.
4. Season 4 (frontier?), the one you fused with something and transform you into a digimon.
5. Season 5 (savers?), the one that... I don't know what to say, this one's bad.

No, not that much but they do use cards. I remember this because the anime seemed to help the digivice sales, some of my friends have it and it's actually pretty good (if you're a kid of course). And yes, you can slide cards into the digivice, not sure what's the effect though.

Umm... they actually affect the digimon in the digivice but I'm not sure how much since sliding any card-like object works too, dunno if the real cards (Bandai produced them) would work differently just like in the anime.

Good man, also for those of you who havent seen Cyborg 009 I wasnt talking about the original. Also for Gundam, I just mean the older ones, 1st, Zeta, Double Zeta, etc.
