I'm going to build a custom PC, so would these parts make a nice rig that could run a game like crysis? XFX nForce 750i SLI Extreme Motherboard http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4316659 Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 Processor http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4389472&Sku=I69-7500 4GB of RAM EVGA GeForce 9500 GT Video Card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4111742&CatId=1558 Thanks in advance!
yes it will make a good pc but i would drop the sli board and make the processor 3ghz+ plus what loony said and i'm an ati and amd fan so i'd suggest having a look there too (better bang for your buck)
well... yea it would make a good PC... Not a very trust-able one, but a good one. Like equitypetey said, drop the SLI board. It's nearly useless lol. And, how often do you use your PC and how much do you uses it, because 4GB of ram is an awful lot.
Is this a good GFX Card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3747342&Sku=A271-3870
I did say nearly useless . And it's not exactly a high-spec PC as it is there? Although, if he upgrades from his SLI, yea it could be high-spec
Yeah, I'm gonna go AMD/ATI, alot more cheaper (100$), and I get better performance. To tell the truth I liked AMD more before looking for parts, still do. So could this setup run graphic-intensive games. XFX nForce 750a Motherboard CPU Bundle http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4387063&csid=_22 Sapphire Radeon HD 3870 Video Card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3747342&Sku=A271-3870 4GB of RAM Also, is it better than the other one I posted.
that looks like a good setup but make the gfx card a better model of the same chip set if you get what i mean
crossfire is inferior to SLi, but how that card stacks up against a 9 series geforce I don't know. SLi IS an upgrade. Maybe you should butt out and leave this to people who know what they're talking about?
Hmmmmmmm......Should I get the nVidia GPU then? Edit: Will this power supply (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2522440&CatId=1483) work with that mobo?
get what you want buddy but there isn't any need for sli or crossfire for what your going to do with it all the cards mentioned will run the games you want and will still run new ones at good res for a while. so figure out what you need to use your pc for if its just a bit of gaming here and there it doesn't need to be stupidly good it just needs to do what you want for the price you want and be reliable. i'm still running my temporary (lack of money so made a good pc with the intention of upgrading the gfx card later) gfx card shamefully an ati X1650 but i haven't been forced to upgrade yet cause its still running everything and looks good (better then my 360 so i'm not complaining). so that proves you don't need to spend allot to have something that does its job. when a bit more better off i'm looking at ati 4870 or 4670
the wattage of the PSU is OK, but its not a well known brand (Antec, OCZ, Seasonic, Coolermaster, Corsair). The PSU is the one component you need to be most careful about; if your GFX card dies, then you have to replace it, if your PSU dies theres a chance you might have to replace most of the computer. It pays to spend maybe a bit more money getting a well known and reliable brand PSU.
yes, the difference is the 20+4 pin can be either a 20 pin and a 4 pin, or a 24 pin, depending on your needs. All modern computers need a 24 pin though. You will also need a separate 4 pin 12V connector.
Don't I need a 8-pin 12v because of the mobo? Because that's what the processor power slot is as shown in this picture.
im not sure how i said that ... what went through my mind there? my bad, must've typed it out wrong somehow :S
hmm yes, you do need an 8 pin rather than a 4 pin. My mistake, I thought only dual processor boards needed an 8 pin. (my board needs a 24 pin, a 4 pin and an 8 pin).
