it seemed original to me, if formatting dint working the obvious choice was ysmenu unless it were an ultra, AKAIO is for them

 

Erm.... My Wood R4 doesnt seem to generate .cc files when I activate cheats.

 

Seville: The card you posses isnt a R4 Orignal but a clone witch means that Wood R4 shall not work. Try and see if YSMenu works on your card!

I followed all the instructions and it still doesnt work.

 

Hello, I signed up to Romulation just to ask this question, and since this topic was still very active from the original thread starter I thought I'd try my luck.

I have downloaded Wood R4 for my DS specifically to play Yu Gi Oh 2010. However the R4 i bought has no sticker on it, so I am not sure what model it is. The default firmware it came with was R4 v1.18. If the type of DS matters, I should state that my DS is not a DSi, not even the DS Lite but the original, first generation Nintendo DS bought a few years back.
I have tried using WAIO, the WoodR4 for Clones - inside the memory card are the following files, _DS_Menu.dat, _rpg folder, and the list of woodr4.nds for various clones. Once i insert the r4 into my DS, it shows the red annoyed R4 face -.-" saying "Menu?".
It appears that Google cannot help me this time round, and I am unsure what to do next. I have also used the Original R4 WoodR4 firmware, yielding the same results.

I do hope someone could help me out on this issue, thanks.

EDIT: no it also gives a red annoyed face saying "Menu?". without any SD card at all it says "No Card -.-"

you have to figure out what card you have. try searching for its firmware again

no, you can use either WAIO or YSMenu

iluvfupaburgers, the R4 originally came with the R4 v1.18 software

 

You cant use GBA roms on your R4 sorry, buy an slot 2 card for that or Supercard DStwo

Nope, from 1.18 or so, .sav works as well, I think

Wood R4 v1.18
Interface:
• Localization for root entries added.
• Option to use .sav instead .nds.sav added.

 

Meaning you have aclone, use WAIO and read the instructions below the download or use YSMenu

just, right-click -> rename -> and change .sav to .nds.sav
and ps, you can just load the .dav files!
