Wood R4 - The New Firmware 99.8% Compatibility (CK3)

    New DS software updates NEED the new folder, regardless if it only has a few "unnecessary" tweaks.
    It loads everything from the folder, not from the _DS_MENU.dat.

    that's not true because even if it does loads things from the folder, the game compatibility is inside the _ds_menu.dat!

    No it isn't. The game compatibility is in one of the files in the folder.

    And also, what if something has changed in the file structure of the globalsettings.ini for example? Wood R4 won't work then if just replacing the dat.

    And yes my point IS true.

    This makes no sense either.

    then tell me this, why is the whole _rpg folder from v1.16 excact the same size as v1.17?
    And that the '_ds_menu.dat' file is the only file that has a diffrent size!
    Also, when i use my 'Wood R4 v1.17.nds' file with the v1.16 folder, why can it run the games that where fixed in v1.17 and not in v1.16?

    Thanks for responding. So I will then just replace the _DS_MENU.DAT, take the new version from the v.1.17 and place it into the existing _rpg folder v.1.16 in my cart. Cross fingers, it should hopefully fix some of the non-working games from the current rom release.

    I have to agree with you about the other content of the _rpg folder, it all looks the same in each update version, except the size of the _DS_MENU.DAT and the Wood R4. NDS that often show significant difference on each version. That's why those 2 files are the focus of my question.

    About Xenon++, got nothing new to say, except that everyone using WAIO sure will start screaming for help, especially if their cart can't run R4YSAUTO YSMENU. Luckily I'm not one of that version user. My sympathy to you guys relying on WAIO if Xenon++ really stop.

    i tested them both
    wood r4idsn doesn't work on r4ids gold card
    and wood r4ids gold doesn'twork on 2.0 either

    Hi,
    I also tested the new Wood Version:

    Wood R4iDS Gold v1.17
    Wood R4iDS Gold v1.17.NDS

    It doesn't run on R4i (Gold) V2.0 from www.r4ids.com :'(
