Hey guys, just signed up, and I need help!

I have Wood 1.32 on my MicroSD Card, and when I turn my DS on, it says on a black screen saying "Loading..." I've left in on charge for over half an hour, and it still was saying loading.

Is this a genuine copy of R4.

Thanks lol But I think it will be alright for 2 MAIN reasons
1: its officially supported by Wood.
And
2: GBATemp gave it a GOLDEN award! (link to review) http://gbatemp.net/t293386-r4i-gold-3ds-compatible-review

I believe the only other card to get the GOLDEN award was the AceKard 2i and we all know how good THAT card is.

So here's to HOPEING it will be good!

Another thing, I sell things locally on craigslist and I sell the Original R4 for $8 - $10 and sell the AceKard 2i for $28.

I'm adding the R4i Gold and thats why I was asking
But I'm also getting the R4i Ultra (as I've had a few people request it but I didn't have any) and i'm gonna sell it for under $20 (not sure how much is a good retail price any ideas?)

I'm also adding the newer 3DS Top Toy and will also sell for under $20. (Same thing for this i'm not sure how much is a good retail price any ideas?)

I got 2 and tried the Wood R4 firmware for the R4i3D (as the 3DS Top Toy is a clone of that card and someone else said it would work) and they both got bricked But i'm still ordering more as it was my fault they bricked cuz I used the wrong firmware.

But mainly does anyone know the quality/reliability of either of these cards?

Better then AceKard 2i? Maybe! Nintendo releases DSi 1.4.3 update and blocks AK2i (among other carts) but not...

R4i Gold 3DS! It doesn't need to be updated!

I think we have a serious contender for #1 flashcart!

i dont really dont know its quality but if u researched it found out wood works with it and gba temps golden award then i think u have donr a great job! unlike me i didnt kno anything and i just wanted any r4 then i got a clone but im still in luck with it since i updated waio xp

 

Yeah my Mom ALWAYS complements me on my research lol. I've found that the most reliable cards out there, in no particular order, are:

1: The R4 Original (only works on DS lite or Heaven forbid the DS Phat, Bleh)
2: R4i Gold 3DS (by www.r4ids.cn)
3: AceKard 2i
4: Supercard DSTWO
5: The R4 3D (by www.r4idsn.com)

If you have any one of those cards your roms are in good hands

There may be more reliable carts but those are the main ones.

I'm gonna try out the newest clone the 3DS Top Toy (clone of R4i3D by www.R4i3D.com) as well as the R4i Ultra (Clone of AceKard 2i)

But even if they turn out good enough to sell for people who want a cheap card they can pick up locally, I wouldn't include them in the list of reliable cards as they are still clones and don't have they're own development teams (Wood R4 supported Carts are the only exception being that it's so darn good!)

im not sure if this has been said or not but the WOOD r4 doesnt support patched roms but does it support the absolute zero translated tales of innocence rom?

 

Firmwares do not translate ROM's, And you should use clean roms if possible as the AP fix is added into the firmware it's self, The fixed roms are on the list, any older ROMs will also be fixed.

 

so will the translation patched rom work on the wood r4 firmware?

Hey guys, newb here, but got everything working nicely on my new R4 Original^^

However, when I bought the R4, it had an old OS on it and a bunch of ROMs. In my excitement, I threw Wood 1.32 on there without formatting it or deleting the old OS files. I want to "clean up" the card a bit, so here is a list of files currently on there. Which ones do I need and which ones can I toss?

_DS_MENU.DAT
_AX_MENU.DAT
_DS_MENU.SYS
_DS_MSHL.NDS
autorun.inf
LAMEBOY.CFG
Games (Folder) [obviously need this one]
Gameboy (Folder with GB roms and lameboy.nds)

Also, would it be better to just format it then throw Wood on?
And do I need both LAMEBOY.CFG and lameboy.nds files?

omg i've been so frustrated these days trying to figure out why my game cant use action replay codes
i like downloaded 5 versions and reinstalled everything and even downloaded firmware/updates
