You seem more hypocritical.
He owns the firmware so he can also do with it whatever the heck he wants.
People should be happy that we can do this with his firmware in the first place.

 

CoolKill3r: if somebody releases stuff they can as well release it under a license that allows the use of modified source code. It's called being friendly (not that YWG is not by releasing the firmware but releasing it under a nice license is even more friendly towards the developers).

yea its true right? but coolkill3r is also true o.o since he did make it he can well as take it down but nothings really worng by modyfing it modifyers are modyifing it to make it better which is one good reason (can improver flashcart compatibility). He's not doing anything wrong, but that doesn't keep him from being a hypocrite by doing the exact same thing those GPL violators did

One of the posters in that gbatemp topic said something about YWG losing his moral standing for pulling this stunt
I kinda lost my respect for him after seeing this, and I'm guessing some of the NDS coders do too

By the way, YWG released 1.29 under GPL, which means he's actually entitled to share the source code to the public. Unless he decided to release Wood under different license, he's actually violating the GPL, which makes him a hypocrite.

This won't stop those Wood users from kissing his a$$ though

 

Take a look at the Simple Machines Forum project, they provide dozens of modifications to make the software better (it's the software this forum uses). If only YWG would allow that, it would become even greater.

Even if software is not being protected from modifying, the author can take it down...

All Wood R4 firmwares have been deleted from filetrip and only the latest v1.29b has stayed.
But i wonder if anyone downloaded a version called v1.29 or something cuz i dont know why the B has been added besides the fact that there was an A also
If someone knows and/or has it please tell me.

I think you mean the Wood R4iDS Gold v1.29 version and the Wood R4iDS Gold v1.29b version, because the Wood R4 v1.29 is still on the server (there was never a b version of this file).
If you mean the Wood R4iDS Gold v1.29 version, i have that version, and i also have the b version.
Version Wood R4iDS Gold v1.29b is in another treath (http://filetrip.net/g35130127-Wood-R4-for-R4i-Gold-%28R4iDS%29.html) on filetrip. Version Wood R4iDS Gold v1.29 you can find on the following link : http://filetrip.net/f24933-Wood-R4iDSN-1-29.html
If you follow this links you will see that all different versions of Wood R4 and Wood R4iDS are still on the Filetrip server.

Is that the version you got?

 

I just downloaded the file via the 1.29 link and i got this file : 24933-WoodR4iDSN_v1.29.7z (This file is smaller than the file i first downloaded.)
I also downloaded the file via the 1.29b link and than i get this file : 24958-Wood_R4iGold_V1.29b.rar
So i dont get the same file.
