Wood R4 - The New Firmware 99.8% Compatibility (CK3)

    WoodR4 has an option in start menu, To seleact the type of save file to use, .nds.sav are .sav are both so you can use any

    Since v1.18 Wood Supports .SAV files.
    And when downloading the firmware it automaticly stands on .SAV.

    Thanks to everyone who answered. You all were very helpful. I did get it and it works good. Wood didn't automatically switch to .sav for me though, it was set on .nds still and I had to manually switch it, but it was an easy fix.

    Recent games (pokemon, golden sun, kingdom hearts) haven't been working for the WAIO1.16 on my R4 III.
    Either they don't start up or they can't save.

    Should I be doing something differently? I remember seeing something a while back about changing the save...state or something.

    Well I bought around 8 R4's and about 3 did not work, they said things like "loading" forever and "the chip could not be read", so it might not be your software, it might be your R4

    i dont kno about u but i got kingdom hearts 358/2 days workin on my r4 III upgrade with waio v1.16 but some games still dont work -_-

    Hello, I have been using Wood 1.28 for Pokemon White(U) for a while now, but unfortunately I've stumbled upon a problem recently.
    Whenever I turn on my DSLite nowadays, I get a quick loading screen, but then it goes into a white screen. Nothing happens afterwards. This started happening after I turned off my DS while in DSOrganize. I'm using an R4 original with a 2gb microSD card formatted with Panasonic SD Formatter. Why is my R4 suddenly having this problem? Thanks in advance.

    I don't think there will be anymore update for the Wood for DSTT. Yellow Wood Goblin who is the original codemaster for Wood firmware removed the source code from all his latest updates since after v.1.25 because of too many people stealing his work and incorporating it into their 'own' version of Wood; such as Wood for DSTT and Wood for M3. So if you can't make use of the official Wood version from YWG or Avalondon, then maybe you can try YSMENU/TTMENU instead.

    I thought that the whole point of Wood being an open source firmware is that so people with the programming knowledge is able to mod the firmware to work on different kinds of flashcarts?
    Besides, every Wood mod i know of always give credit to YWG in one way or another, so I don't think people 'stealing' his work is the reason he stopped sharing the source code.

    The programmer for Wood M3 has asked YWG to provide the source code for him, and YWG already said yes (according to said programmer anyway), but YWG still hasn't give him the source code.

    Unfortunately that's the bitter fact. Its RIP Wood for DSTT and Wood for M3. Here's the quote from the latest v.1.29 release hosted on GBATemp.net where Another World (the mod in that site) asked YWG about the reason behind the removal of his source code which used to be openly available before v.1.26 (Source: http://gbatemp.net/t290793-wood-firmwares-v1-29):

    From what I can get in that gbatemp topic, YWG declined to share the source code simply because most (if not all) wood mods programmer failed to share their own source code, which is a violations of the GPL, since all derivative works from a software with GPL has to be distributed under the same terms (Wood is open source, hence Wood mods has to be open source.

    I'm sorry but that seems awfully hypocritical of him to do that.

    Well, its not in my position to judge anyone in this matter. But the fact that every update are officially YWG's, its within his prerogative to do as he see fit, especially if the ones using his source violate his term of use. I guess... Even though its open source, there are still term of use to follow.
