Windows 8

window 8 sucks big time, even pro edition (just got a new laptop that come with window 8 basic).... you cant turn off that stupid tiles display.. but i manage to find a way.

anyway, i still figuring out how to window 8 navigate... it seems like each new edition windows, there is lesser way to change your settings...

edit: oh, i just learn that new laptop doesnt come with window or driver disc, everything is on a separate partition on the HD... i wonder how i'm going to reformat if my HD dies...

edit: oh i manage to find a way to backup the "recovery partition" but it only works for thumb drive >.>

 

Reverse software compatibility with new Windows operating systems has always been a bitch. Some of the legacy software tools I use for work purposes won't run on Windows 7 or 8 unless I shell out $10k+ just to get the current versions (which I don't need to).

Is there anyway to install Windows 7 (or 8) to a HDD?
I tried to but I got some error message (did it a week before I left).

 

F2 or whatever to acess system config, set the primary boot device instead of HDD go with CD/DVD insert your win7 DVD re-start the PC and make sure you press the key when asked to boot up the DVD, you then need to chose the option of save+update over clean install, it should work, if that doesnt works, you need to do a clean install, my recomendation is simple actually, backup pics, saves, all your favorite wep pages and recent tabs onto an EHDD and then do the clean install.
