    1- You can't with it
    2- No
    3-No

You can use the 60gb but not 80gb, it's stupid doing that, stupid Sony!

the new 80Gb PS3 used Software to emulate PS2 and PSX, the compatibility is 98%

plus why do you need PS3 to play old games...... you can use your old PS2 and PSX to play them.....

Which 80gb are we talking about?
There was a special edition one my friend has that does not play any old games

The new 80 GB PS3 that came with MGS4 is the last version to play PS2 games, and it has compatibility with PS1 games as well. I have only seen one blu-ray movie come with a PS3, and that was Spider-Man 3, it came boxed with the lower end 40 GB model. Now those are out of production, replaced by the newer 80 GB version that has no PS2 game compatibility. The new 160 GB model that is coming bundled with Uncharted is only compatible with limited PS1 games as well.

I know that in the very near future, Sony will be releasing a PS3/ Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children blu-ray bundle. I think that will sell quite well. I won't buy it, but I know a lot of people will. I'll just buy the movie. I don't want another PS3.

I think it was a mistake for Sony to not include the "Emotion Engine" in their newer PS3's. Sony's excuse is "Due to the availability of an extensive line-up of PS3™ system titles, the 160GB PS3™ system is not backwards compatible with PlayStation®2 system titles, but does maintain backwards compatibility for some original PlayStation® titles." I know that the PS3 has quite a bit of games for it, but "extensive" is a rather strong word, that and the quality of games aren't as good as on some other systems. I know I'm going to get flamed by all those Sony fanboys for that, but so be it. They just don't like the truth. Besides, Sony didn't stop making the PS2 backward compatible when it has a very extensive game library. I think it's all a sham to get people to pay the same price for a system with fewer features. Sony removed 2 USB ports from their newer 80 GB versions, and didn't place more than two on the 160 GB version either. No more SD card reader either, or memory stick duo for that matter.

Thanks Sony, for giving us less features for the same price. All you get is a bigger HDD. I think that a bigger hard drive is not worth what you lose in comparison. But I guess when you get right down to it, that's just one man's opinion. I'm probably going to get hate mail for it though. Oh well.

Lack of backwards compatibility in the recent PS3s broke the deal for me. I have WAY too much PS2 games to abandon, and I was hoping I could sell my PS2 for some extra cash to actually buy the PS3.

I have a Wii, but the games tend to be boring after I played it for a few days

    I want a PS3, but I just can't convice my parents to let me buy a PS3

Your parents are smarter than you realize, me thinks. ;)

I have had two of them. I don't miss either one of them. The one thing that I hated the most about the PS3 is the fact that I had to go into my video settings and adjust what video output my TV could decode to make the PS3 broadcast in 1080p. Every game I had, I had to do that to. Blu-ray played fine though. Too much of a hassle for me. I don't know if anyone else has had a similar experience like that or not.

    I'm getting a 360 Elite this Friday. I can't wait.

That's your TV at fault, not the PS3

I was referring to the video setting on my PS3, not my TV.

i gotta say the remote play feature is awsome with the ps3 and psp. being able to hang out at the university center streaming movies from my network at home to my psp is pretty cool i gotta say and its something none of the other systems do

I agree that it is a nice feature, and can be very convenient. I think that it would be difficult to integrate the DS and Wii together, considering the DS has no motion detection.
May work for videos though, but who would want to watch videos on a screen that small? And Microsoft doesn't have a handheld.....I can only imagine how awesome it would be though. The XBox 360 "Petite".......LOL. XD

ya i really like it only some games can be played remotely but sony did add that feature to all the ps originals which means another play through of castlevania SOTN and any other good ones they add. i have about 250 GB of dvd rips stored on my network so that is really nice too right now i have a minor lag problem but that will be fixed with a couple tweaks. the thing about the ds and wii is the ds can only do a B wireless signal which even with the best possible signal still would lag playing really low res movies but when you think about it with better wireless the ds could POSSIBLY do remote play with some games with one of the motion cards. if the ds were a better more powerful system nintendo could have done an awsome cross platform multiplayer for games like mario kart but i guess when your rolling in dough from a product you dont spend as much time sittin around tryin to make it better. oh and it has been leaked that in the next twelve months microsoft will have some sort of mobile gaming platform that will utilize pre-existing live accounts, but sadly to say i believe it be under the zune name instead of something like xboxmobile. i have also read a few other sites saying that it will be another model of the zune with gaming capabilities like the ipod touch. so i dont think microsoft has any plans for making a psp-killer anytime soon which is what i was really hoping for cause mobile halo wars would be awsome

I don't think anyone could, not even Microsoft.
