Because people follow these debate rules, ever?

Both of them, they are both different consoles with their own set of pros and cons.

I assume they're stickied for a reason, but I guess if nobody cares nobody cares.

The question is really software vs hardware, not that 360 doesn't have good software but the wii has by far a better variety of software than the x360 does. But as far as hardware goes, the 360 makes the wii look last-gen.

But while we're on hardware quality, red ring of death.

no more needs to be said about it but its name.

I have both but don't bother with the wii.
The 360 has more games that I like and I prefer a proper controller too.

    Wii. Wii. Wii.

    360:
    Cons:
    - Is made by Microsoft
    - Crashes so easily
    - I don't like any game on it.
    - Need to buy points.

    Pros:
    - HDD instead of flash memory
    - Can download games from store.

    Wii:
    Cons:
    - Crashes so easily.
    - Not much memory.
    - Need to buy points.

    Pros:
    - Really powerful hardware, can emulate much systems
    - Easily hackable.
    - Can download old games from the shop, including WiiWare games
    - Can play GameCube games (Super Mario Sunshine FTW)
    - Free internet access
    - Can add more controllers onto one controller

The 360 has more powerful hardware than the wii.
Can also download old games from the shop.

I don't care about that really. I don't care about the whole 360 to be honest...

Just pointing out the faults in your pros and cons, you should add to both if they both have it.

    Uh.....

Wii plays GC games (backwards compatible)
Wii has Old Games to download (VC)
Wii has free online (though admittedly it's not as dedicated as XBOX 360's.)

Consider your reasons a bit more XD

One other thing, is the RROD fixed in the new console?
If it is you can't keep knocking the 360 for it. Just buy a new one and the problem is no longer there.

RROD is still present in the new i think.
