Really? The game resolution is the same, but the screen resolution is higher. So it should look more pixelated when zoomed out. Unless Kirby is DSi-proof, since it's a Nintendo game, they programmed it so that It still looks good on DSi. Something like larger background view instead of zoomed out sprites.
They actually kept the same resolution of the screen just made it bigger. But considering that game looks great already, the improved screen clarity is what makes it look great.
Not really. Sprites that have been zoomed in/out on don't look bad. If they have indeed been added to a RotSet to be able to do so, obviously. And it's only the screen resolution. No game resolution.. And the DSis screen sizes have had an extra quarter of an inch added, so yeah. It's no problem.
I know everybody's excited about the DSi, I'm a bit excited too, but the DSi isn't that different from the DS. Sure it has a little tweak here and there, but is it really worth the money? Of course I'm going to get one to replace my DS lite that is on the verge of "collapsing" into pieces. But as people say, don't knock it till you try it, so I'm just going to have to find out how it works myself.
Wow! seeing that collection brings back memories, I still own that first gameboy in the form of a yellow brick I have a ds lite so i dont think i'll ever get the dsi, the new features to me seem kinda pointless.
I think it's a pretty useless edition of the DS. People say that many believed the first DS to be gimmicky but i didin't, because it was a good idea, but the camerasÉ I don't care if i can paste a mario mustache on my low res picture i've done it in high res on a hd monitor with paint years ago. What will the camera be used for in games except adding your face to a profile? The original DS's innovation with the touch screen opened up a new way to control console games that's why i thought people were wrogn to call it a gimmick back in the relase days, but for this DS version... i think it might be true.
everyone always attacks the fact it has low res cameras. tsk tsk. and touch screen handhelds have been around for a while. I still have my game.com sitting around. people avoid mentioning the bigger screen, brighter screen, in game reset, in game brightness settings, better speakers, built in memory, web browser that's built in, note pads, ect. Half of the things we try and emulate using homebrew. >_>
^Yes, except the brighter and bigger screen, since that's physical hardware. In game reset is dead easy too.
well...I for one, don't really see the point. Brighter screen? Bigger screen? My PSP already has that. Plus, DS games have horrible graphics. I'm sure I won't get many to agree with me, but every time I play a DS game, I feel like I'm on the GBA again, and sometimes worse... Next, we have the camera. It could be used for stuff like the Eyetoy. That could be interesting for some people, but it really doesn't entice me at all. Built in internet is going to be required since they're gonna make it so you dl all your games basically -_-'. At least the games are always in such a small size that it shouldn't be a big problem. I'm mostly against dual-screen. They could just make the screen that big, but then the system wouldn't be so portable. Which is of course a problem. I want a psp 3000 all of a sudden...disregard that. Anyways...if more games use the book setup, I think I would like Dual screen more. It just looks more natural. I can honestly say I don't care about the GBA slot. Emulators, and old systems could take care of that. I like the SD card support, but it's really not a big deal since the carts for the DSL have that. ...the reason Japanese are happy about the camera is >_>..you understand the connotations I'm sure. Now, I know that doesn't account for Japan as a whole, but you know there's going to be a lot of people taking advantage of that. All those other features are fine and all, but I really just use my DS to play games, not micromanage. Nintendo has basically shafted all the gamers that spent so much money into their franchise and jumped on the 'please everyone' band wagon. And yes, I do consider myself a 'hardcore' gamer. And I am not right all the time. This is all just my opinion. I don't like Nintendo, and haven't pretty much ever since the N64. I am warming up to Microsoft, but am and always will be a fan of SCE. They care about the people who have spent so much money keeping them afloat all these years. Last thoughts, $40 more for features that I'll probably never use. That's why 'no love for the DSi'. ONE MORE THING>>>>>Region locking :'( I still can't believe that Nintendo went so low...
