I dont even know how its possible. The file is pretty important with a few DS games and well nintendo overlooked it.
There are some similare files in the hardware and games themselves sometimes the DS it self will get confused on which files to run and the agrave.ifi locks the hardware files from the game files. So they dont become mixed and dont corrupt important data.
Have you searched for a different file that could do the same thing? Or possibly considering it's a completely different GUI it doesn't need to be handled the same way. Where you running on 1.1j or 1.2j firmware?
Because I don't feel there's a need to buy a new DS with some extra useless features and no GBA slot. Unless I can play GBA game from the SD card slot and they managed to create a lengthy and good DSi-only game with good use of the camera, I might consider buying it. Currently, my DSLite is still enjoyable, there are still a lot of great games developed for it. And I havent played half of the great GBA games. Since Nintendo stated that they stopped supporting hardcore gamers, I see no reason to support them. My next handheld could be PSP-3000 to help Sony to get a closer loss. Sadly, that's the damn truth, casual games are always more profitable. And since they dumbed down LoZH, they dumbed down Starfox for their casual crowd, I feel there's a need to dumb down their sale figure.
=_= And in the rules it clearly states: "- Keep an open mind and be willing to accept any information given to you. Debates are a good chance to get your facts strait from people in the know. Our minds are constantly learning and gathering new information, so be open to taking it." So I was hoping that I could get a decent debate going on this forum but I guess that is hard to find even here.
When I chose to buy a DS instead of a PSP(since I can't get both), I know that all I need is games, games and more games. I don't care about music, I don't give a damn about portable porn movie player. Most people with limited "resource" had to make that same decision too. The DSi so far offers no new game-related features but instead, a bunch of things that I don't care about(cameras) or things that homebrew already cover(media player, ebook reader, note...). It even takes away one of the best things on the DS: the GBA slot. So I agree with Barathrum "Why love for the DSi?". Besides, how many real casual gamers join a gaming forum? Gaming forum is a pretty "hard core" place right? We discuss strategies, share game secrets, achievements or challenge each others. I don't hate, I just don't love.
*applause* Thank you bullno1 for that properly informed and explained explanation for your view. And yes as far as gaming goes the DSi has only offered mini games you have to buy. Though I must say the larger screen and better back lighting makes games look amazing!
Wow, i've got to see screenshots... So you're saying if I play my DSLite games on it, they'll all look cool? Too bad I have an R4 thats not compatible with a DSi, unless i get a new flashcart and a DSi lol
Well screen shots will look the same since you can only get them with an emulator or very expensive equipment which won't render the back lighting. And taking a picture of it can never look as good. Sadly the only way would to have one in your hands. And flashcards are cheap, <$20 shipped for a DSi card mostly. Check my post on the other DSi topic that you just posted in. I listed links.
