LOL, my friend destroyed my disc of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and that was the time I thought "Now it's enough!", my disc of Mario Party 8 got damaged because of an unknown reason, my disc of Super Paper Mario also got unknownly damaged, so is my disc of Zelda Twilight Princess, etc.

I pirate because of a few reasons

    1. I want to sample the product(certain products I only want to sample before buying) - Golden Sun the Dark Dawn is the only example here
    2. I can't afford it
    3. it is no longer available, or is extremely rare(older games)
    4. I would have to pay more for gas or shipping than I would for the product
    5. it is something I don't own a system for(gamecube/wii)
    6. it isn't worth the cost of it(60 dollars for a game I will get 5-7 hours of gameplay out of is ridiculous.. I know it costs alot to produce.. but.. seriously, this category is the I would pay for it if it would last me more than a day or 2

  6. I believe Pirating is a way of helping other people get stuff, but again, it's illegal.

I got into it via family/family friends when I was a kid. They scoured newsgroups and things like that, and I naturally fell into the flow. Most of the stuff I do get, I wouldn't have gotten otherwise, due to the economy, and my natural nature to pinch every penny I get. (Hoping one day it turns to diamonds) For things like programs, I do -try- to find free versions that are acceptable. Video converters, archive programs, things like that.

    1 It's not available in my country/english
2 It adds up, a 60 dollar game per month is 720 dollars a year, which can buy 2 or 3 xboxes
    3 It's easy

I pirate, mostly, to test a game before I buy it. I will often buy Indie games on a whim regardless. Not having much in the way of excess income, I don't often play games much any more, however.

Simply put, because I can and that's all there is to it. No lame excuses and no attempt to validate my actions.

I love Bon Jovi. Thus I pirated Bon Jovi.
13.99 for music made 20 years ago? I don't think so.

Also dead space 2, because Space is much better when It's dead.
And I wanted to see how my new comp would run it.
