I'd like to classify Christians as either that nice old lady down the street who gave money and food to the man who tried and failed to rob her, that guy who's pretty cool and Christian is basically a "name" for him, or that @sshole who criticizes you based on what his belief says. Or in other words, Lawful Good, Lawful Neutral, and Lawful Evil. I'd come up with examples for the other six, but too lazy.

I dispise them because, really, no one does hypocricy better then a Christian. And I mean, no one. They say others should show a little respect for their religion, but then turn around and say that anyone else is a fool, or they'll bash every other religion/belief/lack-of belief. And trust me, being atheist, I've had to listen to my fair share of them. It gets annoying. I used to be quite tolerant of christians, but then realized and wondered why I should tolerate those who don't tolerate me.

well its that slim majority that ruins the majority... like that stereotype that all muslims are hateful... I was friends with one "mehdi koch" and he was a nice guy, sure he was a little annoying, but nevertheless a great guy

Hit it and quit it? Not satisfying enough, man. If I wasn't already involved with someone, I'd be going for the full corruption. Come on brah, you know me better than this, you should be able to tell how I'd play it.

No. Turn the girl into my personal whore then leave and destroy her when I lose interest, which I inevitably would because the only reason I'm even interested in her is to get some perverse pleasure out of corrupting a good Christian girl.

Then that makes you just as bad as them, no?

I embrace you, so whatever miscommunications we have we can discuss. However, I am agnostic, so bear that in mind.

I think some people generally hate Christians because of the millenium of violence that has followed it's church.

Be it the persecution of the roman faiths once Christianity became the religion of the later roman rule, or the crusades against the muslims for control of Jerusalem and nearby territories. Even it's exile of Gallileo showed that the clergy of christian faith adhere to their rules without examining the thoughts of others.

Power too. Christianity is the largest organized religion on the planet( Or did Muslims beat them in the polls? Unsure. ) History consistently shows that people with that much power will abuse it. Just so happens they have an army of a billion behind them.

This will probably never change Maxuellis. Stay good to your faith, accept the wisdom of others without faulting yours completely, and you'll be on the road to becoming a good christian.

So after reading this thread, my understanding of why christians are hated are the following:

*note, these are quoted from previous posts by others.

-They support ideas that are considered archaic, offensive, ignorant and bigoted.

-Many of the world's conflicts arise from their Religion.

-One part of their religion is a retarded, silly little thing.

-They are willing to purposely ignore what the majority considers as facts and reason to uphold their beliefs.

    -They are liers

-They push their religion onto other people

-They think that their religion is the only true one

-Some of them are self center morons.

    -They are hypocrites.

If I switch the phrase "their religion" and "their belief" to "what they believe in" in the above sentences, then the sentences pretty much all become descriptions of human being in general including those who replied to this thread. If those are the reasons for Christians to be so hated then maybe we should just hate our own species as a whole.

*note: other than the information given, everything I say in this forum are not to be taken as anything other than my own personal opinion.

Why would that make me just as bad as them? I don't cuss at them, say their going to hell, or any of that shit. I just do tolerate them when they won't tolerate me. If the specific person knows I'm atheist and isn't being an absolute dick about it, then fine. No harm done, I won't be a dick about their beliefs. But it goes the same way. I treat them how they treat me. Besides, I'm not the one following a religion with more blood on its hands, and a very insecure "god", then any other thing I've seen. Yeah, religion ain't the only reason wars exist, and no, a world without religion would not be paradise(I still say we'd be better off without it, though my ideas of "better off" and yours are going to differ...), but it's still got a ton of blood on it's hands and is one of the leading causes.

Like I said, almost all of the descriptions from my post will fit human being in general after changing the words "their religion" to "what they believe in". So if Chrisitans are to be hated, then we should just hate mankind. If many of those descriptions don't fit you, I am not surprised, because they also don't fit many religous people.

And I don't know how people think this way, but religion is not the leading cause of death. Religious conflict is actually the smallest cause of death when compared to non-religous conflicts and natural disasters.

    Throughout history:
-natural disasters cause about 1.75 million death per year
-non-religious conflicts cause about 0.4 million death per year
-religious conflicts cause about 0.19 million death per year.

Keep in mind that both non-religous conflicts and religous conflicts are due to man. Considering how many people believe in one religion or another (up to 89% of the world population), the ratio of 50% is pretty damn small. Since conflicts due to Christians is only a fraction of the religious conflicts, the amount of conflicts caused by Christians would be even less than that.

No matter how you look at it, the amount of death due to conflicts related to religion always come in at the bottom.

We are all human beings, so not one of us is perfect. If religious people never commit sin, then they wouldn't even need to believe in a religion. We are humans, we cause conflicts, so we ourselves are the reasons for wars. Just because some of us like to dream, it doesn't mean that dreams are the sources of conflicts.

I have a few questions for the non christians then. Im just curious. and by the way, 709zzy post was the best. he summed it up really well.

what do non christians believe when they die. If you dont believe in heaven, then i guess your not going there.

and also, why are your morals the same as christianity, or why is the worlds moral based on chrisianity i should say. I mean, human beings automatically assume that stealing is wrong and adultary is wrong but that is only based on the commandments of christianty. For someone who is not christian why does this rule apply to you? your not christian so you should be able to steal.

morality has nothing to do with religion.

I almost can't answer this because of the lack of grammar and sense in it. Those of us who don't believe in a heaven or eqivilent know that...nothing happens. You die, you die. Nothing else. You return from whence you came, AKA, nature.

Stealing is wrong, it's a fact(saying this on a piracy forum...lol). This was a rule WAAAAAAYYYYY before christians came around. Don't assume rules were made by christians. Adultery was bad WAAAAAY before christianity. It's not based off the commandments of christianity, they're common human societies rules. It applys to non-christians because...oh wait...they aren't christian rules.

Your post is senseless, and stupid. You assume christians made those rules, they did not. People way before them did, when the dawnings of civilization came about.
