I agree with Void, heartbreak sucks. Never liked Lil wayne either. Eminem is great though his new stuff and his old stuff is great. i like heavy metal sometimes, like disturbed and in flames are good metalists. Rock is my favorite though, STAIND. His older albums were also metal but not super screamo shit.
yeah 808s and heartbreak does suck...can't blame a man for being complacent after making tons of money...like Eminem, his crack a bottle is aight...but not as lyrically clever as Slim Shady LP or Marshall Mathers LP. I swear every great rapper only has two good albums and then all of a sudden they become "ladies man" like Ja Rule. Ja's first album was the shit, but he went sappy Cookie Monster rap-sing after that.
I think he understood that, and that is why he is correct in what he said. Hip-Hop is a culture, and a lifestyle if you aren't a part of that culture then how could you enjoy the music? I personally think a lot of international music is crap. Indian music, and Arabic music do not sound like music to me, but that doesn't mean that I am right, or that it is not music.
As far as worst rapper, that'd have to go to Lil Wayne. I just can't stand the guy. I'd rather listen to Paul Wall (don't even get me started...) As far as those stating that they "hate it all", there's a lot more (and overall better) than the mainstream garbage that you hear on the radio's, and TV. Personally, I refuse to listen to mainstream music (regardless of genre). I'm more of an east-coast person, myself. But, here are a few artists that you can youtube, if you'd like to hear something drastically different (I can't think of anymore for the time being. I'm a little tired); eMC Little Brother Looptroop Pete Rock Promoe
i think everyone is forgetting someone. rich boy and his throw some d's. here's a part of his lyric "I'm at the jeweler now throw some freeze on the bitch, I got a chest cold and I might sneeze on the bitch" like WTF is he even trying to make the song good. i can listen to some stuff like Kayne and jay-z without getting a head ache but i'd rather not if i had the choice.
I think all the stuff that is coming out now is totally ruining hip-hop. I knew it was overs as soon as I heard Kanye West's "Paranoid". I'm not saying it's a bad song, nay. Only problem is, it's kind of typical of what hip-hop has become: digital sounding with flat electronic voices. I'm all for the 'evolution of hip-hop' as such, but this isn't really evolution, this is a depletion of creativity. Personally, I think I'm still keeping it 'real' with De La Soul, Theory Hazit, and Hip-Hop Pantsula. Who agrees and who disagrees?
I dont like rap at all. RUN-Dmc is the best rapper of all time. the only rapper I like But my friends has the best saying the world about rap "Rap is a bad attempt at poetry"
I think all rappers are terrible, except one SONG! Dead and Gone. Its the only Rap I can stand to listen.
