which ps3 models can plays older systems?

    The software emulation already exists in the system when you buy it.

    The original PS3s with backwards compatibility had hardware emulation, a physical different set of hardware that would play PS2 games. Probably similar to the GBA hardware in an NDS/DSLite. The newer models with backwards compatibility got rid of the hardware to reduce costs, and instead used software to emulate the PS2 on the PS3's existing hardware. You should not need to download any updates for the system to do this, it should come with the system.

    Awesome! I've learned something again! Now got to have a plan to where I can get my own PS3.

    Now I have to plan where to shove that masive box...IF I get it...cheaper to stick to re5 pc version.
