EXE and Starforce series for me, but i like ZX / Advent also...

  2. I'm so torn between the DASH!! series and the original, but I think with the latest release of Rockman 9 I think the original series takes it for me! The thought of there possibly being a new DASH!! game is exciting and it would put the series at the top if it came out any time soon. Sadly though it doesn't seem in the works which leaves the original series to be looked at in much higher standards. We need to petition for Rockman 10 now, and possibly 8-bit remakes of the other 16-32 bit games (yes I know there was Rockman 7 FC, but something official from capcom would be amazing for RM8)

Dude, according to gamer folklore, Megaman X WAS supposed to be Megaman 10!

Too bad though as Capcom seem to didn't make the tie in on Megaman 9. Also I can't understand why Rockman & Forte was not recognized as "the" Megaman 9 game.

    ???

  4. Ah, yes, the split timeline theory might help us on that one. Rockman 8.5 (R&F) actually helps out with the idea that you spared Forte at the end of 7. Under normal circumstances, Rock would have been quick to destroy Forte for being one of Wily's creations.. This leads to the break apart to R&F, in which Forte questions Wily's tactics and goes out on his own to defeat Rock AND Wily (thus the appearance of both Tengu Man and Astro Man in RM8 and R&F) Wily having realize this takes the time to create King, the first true reploid like structured robot, with the ability to think and feel beyond normal androids, thus leaving him the capacity to fill in for Wily and do his dirty work of destroying Rock and Forte, all while Wily stays in the shadows, with all the blood left to King's hands. (The reason I tend to see King as a Proto-Reploid is because of his lighting quick reflexes against Blues despite his rather large size as a robot. Remember, Rock is about 4'11". The tallest RM to date is Stone Man, who is about 5'9" but is rather bulky and slow due to his large stature. King looks to be about the same size if not a bit taller, yet still being able to move that quickly is surprising for a robot of his size.) With that said, Wily probably got working on a newer model for Forte hence his blueprints appearing on the screen in the ending to RM9. From that, we can guess that 9 is after the events of 8 in which it is assumed Forte is destroyed by Rock. R&F just takes the story of what happens after 8 if Forte was never destroyed. (Remember that Forte leaves the doctor at the end of R&F, refusing to work for a coward that stood behind his own robots instead of fighting for himself.) That still leaves to be questioned why Tengu and Astro make a reappearance. Of course it could be because Wily saw much more capabilities in them than what was shown in RM8, hence the slightly modified moveset, and he took the time to recreate the two most capable robots from the last series. Even still though, this begs the question of whether Tengu and Astro were also the only ones capable of defeating Forte at the time. Perhaps this is still a mystery yet to be unfolded by Inafune-senpai himself.

or just a way to cash cow on a great series! ;D

Following on your post, which is very interesting I might add. That "new" model you said Dr. Wily "may" have made towards the end of Megaman 9, could be Zero. Remember, in Megaman X 4, Zero is haunted by a "mysterious" Professor in his dreams. Also, Zero used to have a "W" on the blue crystal thing on his helmet, which "may" have contained Dr. Wily's evil programming, that was transferred to officer Sigma when he encountered Zero & shattered that crystal thing. Then on Megaman X 4 or X 5, I think Zero confronted the hologram image of Dr. Light (if you were playing as Zero & go up to the power up tubes where X gets his armour upgrades) asking if he knew said mysterious professor. Dr. Light hesitated in his anwer to Zero's question & tried to change the subject.

there are new feature in Starforce 3:

Battle Cards (don't have light) have the ability of either Single Use and Support Use
    - Single Use has the same effect of Normal Battle Cards.
    - Support Use is a special use that help the player win battles. Ex: Non-element Battle Card in Support Use, results in Area-Eater (no longer PVP).
Note: Touching the Touch Screen for the covered cards.

    Noise Gauge
Top right of the Top Screen is the Noise Gauge (above the Custom Gauge), shows the percentage of Noise. Non-element Battle Cards increase the Noise.
-Effects: The total number of Noise depends on the half of the total damage of the used non-element Battle Card.

    Noise Change:
    - 0-49% gives you Form Out (level 1 form), then 50% and above is the Color Out (level 2 form), exceeds 200% is the Finalized Form.

    - Finalized Form: 200% or more is required. When you hit that number and the Custom Gauge is full, go to the Custom Screen and see an icon says "Meteor Server Access", touch it. The cards in your folder change to the exclusive folder from the server.

    Noise Force Big Bang
    - Ultimate of all Noise Forms and Finalized Forms. Great advantage is that you don't need to make a Counter Hit. The Custom Screen will give you the NFB Card.

    Program Advances
    - like the EXE Series. P.A.s are back except that they can be used in the exclusive folder of the Finalized Forms.

    White Cards
    - unlike the first two games, creating Favorite cards is gone. A wave server that needs to open the cyber world and also download the White Cards via Noise Modification Gear (aka Wave Command).

    Noised Cards
    - Noised Cards can modify Rockman into anything. Different Charged Shots, Auto-Noise Forms, etc.

    Rezon Cards
    - Cards that resonate or use for the Finalized Forms.

Personally I'm not into EXE & Starforce because I just couldn't swallow the idea that Megaman was reduced to an artificially intelligent program that requires a human to let him enable & use his armaments. I rather he still be the awesome robot that he still is :D

But it's Megaman we're talking about here. I much liked the "Astroboy" rip off Megaman of the past than EXE or Starforce's model.

I like the original series best, but the X series is good too. I've never liked Legends at all.
