Around where I live all the DS's are the black/red combo. Including mine. xD

that's my 2 cents :

 

I have white DSLite, I'm one of the mid-late buyers. though right now it looks garbage because of the broken hinge. now i can't play lying down anymore.
i have this crazy theory the endurance of the nds relies on the color. i know another guy with a white ds with a broken hinge. two guys i know with a dark blue ds have stiff d-pad. but that doesn't prove much.

I'm wanting to buy a DSi but I think I'd rather wait for the 3DS to come out
