As a nod off to the "Origin Introduces on the House" topic found here...

    https://forum.romulation.net/threads/origin-introduces-on-the-house-get-games-for-free.62875/

Where forumers post information about what games are currently being offered for free on Origin, as well as to separate discussions regarding free Steam games (because that thread has been derailed a few times, myself guilty of doing so), I decided to open up a separate discussion thread here.

Anyway to start things off, STRICTLY NO ILLEGAL METHODS OF ACQUIRING STEAM GAMES PLEASE. We do not want any of us to get in trouble now do we ;)

To start things off here are two sites that often give information regarding how to get free Steam games, legitimately of course.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/FreeGamesOnSteam/

    http://www.epicbundle.com/article/steam-key-for-free-enclave

Both sites do require you to have/join social media sites for the giveaways to work but it's not much of a hassle these days anyway.

    *Notice though...

Once you click on the link for Epic Bundle it'll take you to an old giveaway page that no longer works, but just scroll on down a bit and you'll see their latest threads near the bottom.

Three other sites I'd recommend people to visit are:

    https://www.indiegala.com/giveaways

    http://www.grabthegames.com/giveaways-winners.html

    and

    http://www.dlh.net/en/

Please post other sites you may know of.

    *Post Script...

Yes I know a lot of the games these sites give away are sub par quality games, but if you want to profit out of the venture then you'll be glad to realize that most of these games do come with Steam Trading cards. And you can sell those off in the market for a few pennies :)

You never know when you get lucky :p like that one time we got X com, and i've gotten tons of really awesome games like Limbo Lucius etc to name a few.

Yeah, the one where we got X-Com is the site that holds the Golden Joysticks Award. Or rather sites affiliated with them. IIRC, PC Gamer, IGN and Green Man Gaming. Anyhoo, Epic Bundle and Bundle Stars often sends out information regarding the Golden Joysticks Awards ahead of everybody and even tells us what the free game would be. IIRC, last year it was Bioshock Infinite they gave away.

One fun game I really wanted for some time now that was given away by Epic Bundle together with Indie Gala that I now own is Lucius:

Which is kinda a nod off to "The Omen":

Suffice it to say, I am a huge Damien Thorn fan. If Harry Potter fanboys wanted to have a lightning bolt tattoo on their forehead when the Potter fandom reached its peak, I on the other hand secretly desired to have the 666 birthmark on my scalp when I was younger mwahahaha~!

And now SEGA has its annual Make War, Not Love event (MWNL) with challenges where you can vote on your favourite SEGA strategy games.

All of the participants who subscribe to the event get one free STEAM key to one SEGA Genesis game after each MWNL-challenge event. Shining Force and Golden Axe II (I missed both games :() were awarded to the participants in the past few days. Subscribe today in order not to miss more free SEGA games from their Genesis library.

I am really hoping they'd give out free keys for "Endless Legend" (the faction I chose) at the end of the event as the game kinda feels like a Sid Meier's Civilization game.
