I started playing when my Dad bought a Super Nintendo (or how he called it). So far I remembered playing Jungle Strike, and The Lion King.

Then my Dad went to Singapore and bought the PS1, unfortunately the games he bought in there were written in Japanese. And I only got 2 original PS1 games(Tobal No. 1 and Ridge Racer) and the others were all pirated and cheap!

I got a GBA for Christmas. Things like Golden Sun, Pokemon, and Fire Emblem were my first games. After that, I think I got a Gamecube for my birthday. Man, I spent a lot of time on my Gamecube.

I got into gaming when I was four or five. It was a mix of Super Nintendo and NES for the start. I remember lots of Mario Paint when I was really young. After the SNES (I still own one :D), we got an N64. I played that thing to death. Donkey Kong 64, Super Mario 64, Super Smash Bros., so many fun titles.

A few years later we got the Gamecube in the first year of it's release. We still have it and it works like new. I've also had a PSX, PS2 (still have), and a PS3 that I just got in March. I've played every Nintendo hand held to date also. I personally owned an original GBA, and I still own my DS Phat that I got in 2004.

My older Sister got a NES. The first game i played must of been Super Mario Bros 3, loved it. I had a few other games but not many.
The first console i owned/shared was the Sega Megadrive, still, i hardly got any games for it, the sonics and a few others.
I really got into gaming with the N64 though, i got a shit load of great games for it (borrowed plenty from my friends aswell). I've spent more time on that than any other console, it was one of the best for multiplayer too.

I started off with the NES. My cousin (whom I lived with at the time) had one and the first game I ever played was Joust. I fucking love Joust to this very day. I wouldn't know what age I was, but I clearly remember Joust being the first video game I've ever played. That was quickly followed by Tecmo Bowl, Bionic Commando, Dig Dug II, a Ninja Turtles game (forgot), and Duck Hunt/Mario. Those were the good old days.

It's interesting to see the different answers from everyone. Just gives you a wide perspective on things.

long time ago, somewhere around 2001 (I think?) my brother bought us both a GBC and 2 pokemon red games. he introduced me to all the ways on how to play the game. the potions you know all that stuff (even though I was just 3 by then). next thing you know the inner gamer kicks in
