What was YOUR reason for pirating?

1) You have pirated at least once
2) Why must we tell you why we have pirated, isn't the reason obvious enough? We are
taking advantage of free stuff or we do not have enough money ;D
3) Didn't you steal from the hard working members of the video game design community?
So do not blame others for pirating.
4) This thread should be in the rant section as it is a annoying thread in the general
discussion.
5) You have no right to be angry as you are not the game developer ;D

Well, I have software on my computer for example a .M4A converter. I downloaded it to convert about 10 songs I had to play on my Dsi, so why would I buy something I am only going to use once and never use it again, and it cost $39.99.

 

I have a freeware programme that can do that too, they are cool

 

Because i believe in try before you buy

 

My friend had the original R4DS.
I got an original R4DS.
Got angry with poor compatibility.
Bought an Acekard 2i.
Wood R4 comes out.
I get angry.

But yeah. My friend pirated before me then I started.

 

Because most of the games are either;
A) Shithouse
or
B) No longer available in Australia

 

This, especially with the NDS because there is so much shovelware released these days, I liked being able to try a game out (like Drawn To Life) to see if it was worth spending any money on. Now I've got a bazillion download points and nothing to spend them on.

I like to try games out before I go and buy them. And so I can play a few of the Japanese exclusive titles. <3

 

Because the games are no longer available. Almost all my games are for older systems no longer available or pc abandonware.
I own around 50 original xbox 360 games, i dont pirate modern games apart from the final fantasy games on DS.

 

Because I'm an evil bastard.

 

Because I can and I only buy good games that are worth buying.

 

Also to play games which are hard or impossible to get here.

I download DS games because it costs to much.
€ 40 for a game is to expensive for me.
I'd rather spend that money on something else

I DO buy N64 games (second handed).
I am busy collecting them.

I've got only 5 games though (super mario 64, mario kart 64, diddy kong racing, Ocarina Of Time, Majora's Mask)

 

the games are too expencive,some games wont ever come here where I live ever,and I want to try em before I buy em

 

I hate to repeat pretty much everyone above me, but
1. Because I'm poor and can't afford them
2. Because I get multiple save files on single-save games
3. Homebrew games(Not a reason for pirating, but a reason for getting Acekard. =p).
4. Japan-only games That the lazy Americans don't wanna translate.
5. WOOHOO, LOOKIE AT ALL MY NEW GAMES!!!
6. Because I'm usually bored without them
7. Because I can get rid of them and then download them again anytime(Well, not now...sniff. I miss the DS games...)
8. It's convenient, and saves gas money, and...money. =p
9. Because I hate waiting for my online order to show up if Game Stop doesn't have it, or its an old game, Not to mention sales tax and shipping costs. O_O Oh, bite me! DX
10. I can play them on my computer without some ATI or NVidia Graphics card and 9999999999 TBs of RAM like all the commercial PC games out there these days. =O And these ones are really FUN too. Did I mention free?

So yeah, that's all I can think of =D Ther're prolly more, but you prolly don't wanna hear more.
