Oh right, the plug and play kits. I thought you meant your controllers had built in batteries! You do have to buy those packs separately though.
Oh no, Blu Ray exists but you don't need to buy an "Next Gen Disk Drive". There's no such thing for the 360. And you don't really need a BluRay player contrary to what most people say. Some people can't tell the difference between 1080p upscaled and 1080p native. So what's the point for a Bluray player when you can buy a DVD player that upscales? Combined with the fact that Blurays are about 10 dollars more expensive than DVDs. As I said, getting a BluRay player while you have an SDTV is kinda useless. Ooof, I knew I should have counted the PS3 games. Eventually down the road, PSN on PS3 games are going to shut down, before Xbox Live. Why? Developers/publishers have to host their own servers and content, this means that eventually the publisher or dev will say "This costs too much to warrant the number of people who play/download this game SHUT DOWN". This also means that download speed and lag varies from game to game. Borderlands is huge for lag online for me on the PS3, while the 360 or PC version won't lag for me. (Yes I've tried all three versions, the PS3 has huge huge voice lag, while the PC doesn't and the 360 has very little). Granted I pirated the PC version, tried the 360 version a my friend's house who has the same internet connection as me and I own the PS3 version. Meanwhile on Xbox Live I'd prefer to have everyone having mics, considering games like MAG or Battlefield 2, for games that require communication, you won't get a hell of a lot. I'd rather be in a town of annoying retards who say the n word all the time over a ghost town with a few live people. Eww, Home. That community is about 10 times worse than Xbox Live, minus the n words. If you make a woman avatar, expect 20 men avatars to flock. Regardless of community, it's going to have good and bad people, it's like this anywhere. Oh yes, don't forget party/private chat, probably the best feature on XBL that the PSN doesn't have. Through the nose? wat? Never heard that expression. 60 dollars a YEAR (in contrast to say, WoW, which is 15 dollars a month, for.. one game), isn't a lot of money at all. It's justified considering the amount of content on the marketplace, it's latency, it's download speeds and it's deal of the week crap. Along with that you can download 360 games, some Xbox games and a bunch of XBLA games. On top of that you have the indie games, which depending on which one you choose, can be really good, or terrible (comes with the community I suppose). Although there's always gems like Miner Dig Deep. Awesome game. There's Netflix that doesn't require a disc if you're in the US, there's a video marketplace, you can download songs if you choose not to pirate them etc. Along with that, Microsoft seems to have a ridiculous idea that timed exclusive content will sell more consoles. GTA IV's episodes came out on the 360 first and still hasn't been released on the PS3 (I think it comes out next month though, it got delayed), Fallout 3's DLC came out before, and now MW2's DLC is coming out later on the PS3. The only games I've heard of this problem are Dead Rising, Mass Effect 2 and prepatched Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. Oh yeah, the PS3 looks like absolute trash when on an SDTV, like, it looks noticeably worse than having it just HD. But the reliability with the PS3 is a double edged sword. Although I expect my Xbox to break eventually, I don't expect my PS3 to break. Once it does, RAAAAGE. And I have to ship it and pay for repairs? Pffft. I'll either buy another PS3 or just not get one at all. Although it's not a very good point, it's the way I see it. Again as I said, if you have an HDTV, I recommend you get a PS3 since it's BluRay functionality. It's straight out of the box value. While the Xbox doesn't have that. Although if you have an SDTV, weight out the options.
@Natewlie: I agree with some of what you're saying, and disagree with some other things. But neither of us are going to budge the other on those things as they are very opinion-related. I enjoyed the discussion though. ciao
