What languages do you speak?

@MindFever: I just checked out sikkwidditt's profile & he's just a newbie to these forums.

I'm saying this because he doesn't know HypnOs is bad at spelling ;D

I've confronted him about this before & have come to accept his inability whole-heartedly.

Also, for Australians, they call Filipinos as "Philos", much the same way we (here in the country anyway) call Americans simple as "Kano" which is taken from the Filipino conversion of American to "Amerikano". So using that as an analogy, I get how Australians developed their term of us as Philos

And by the way, I learned about the term Philo here at these forums from another Australian forumer as well

 

I call Filipino people Filipino, and I'm Australian. I don't think I've ever heard the saying Philos before, but then again, I can't say my contacts with Aussie-Filipino people are common.

 

Yeah about that, again the search bar was not being a good help as I can't find that one post by mds64 or by another Australian forumer who explained it several months ago.

If you study Chinese for 4 years and only know 1 word,you're doing something wrong.

Stop being a patriot. If you want it to be 'fair', both languages are equal and it doesn't matter which is first.

But if I am to be opinionated, I say English is superior and I think you should shush. As English is the global language and if you can't speak it right you look like a fool.

 

Though no one language is better than another, I agree with you in that English is somewhat superior because it is THE Globally used language. And in a way, I DO hope that in the not so distant future it does become THE one language used world wide, or if not at least Scientists do make a working tri-corder so we can just let the thing do the translating for us

Really? Do they have any cohesive language to speak of? All I can hear from them are a sort of gurgling roar.

Also, I do know there are a few people who speak Klingon as well as elf speak. One friend of mine claims "Avisala ri" is elf speak for "Grettings friends".

 

French is also one of widely used and a diplomatic language, you know? Just because the poster happens to know only English,doesnt mean English is superior Claiming superiority of a language is a complete bull-fuck.I find Italian to be alot better in comic situations or how to explain certain things than English language... though i think my native language is better (obviously)

You're right MindFerver, just 'cause english is the main talked language, don't means that is better than others, just like the people that come from those others countries, the people that come from a country that speak english aren't better than others.

you two are right, english is the global language cuz it's the language of US, the current super power, and the world's most widely spoken language is mandarin.
