This is not "What is your favorite OS from all available?" this is more like "What is your favorite OS from what you have used?".

Here was my order of OS...

Windows 95, Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, then it was XP.

I have tried out other operating systems like X window systems, but I never really got into it.

2DamCerius: X is not an operating system, it is a gui for linux.

    I started with a p1 133mhz and windows 95 too. Then I got 350mhz and windows 98.
Ive had tons of PC's with XP on from when it first released. I skipped vista because I used it on my dads PC and hated how everything took twice as long. I do have a copy though.
Then I got windows 7 tiny, and now im using 7 ultimate.

Ugh, Windows 7 Ultimate runs slow in a virtual machine...worse then 4 vista's in one..

7 Ultimate is very fast on my pc, I suggest you upgrade yours.

    And who voted for Vista?!

    Not me.

Also a virtual machine is limited to what the host has to offer, minus what the host needs, so that's nothing too much left.

And as VMware Player eats RAM by itself, I have nothing more then 1GB left for RAM. Disk space is limited by my mom downloading games, so best disk space I can offer to it is 40 GB. Processor is used fully.

Nothing to do with the laptop, as it runs fine except for the slowness. that has to do with what the host has to offer.

Right I totally forgot, since I have not messed with it for a while. I was getting into UNIX,
but I stopped and tried FreeBSD. Been a long time since I got into OS again.

Did you mean the Windows 7 "Remix" package?

Oh okay. Its just that I remember downloading something similar before 7RC. It tweaked the GUI of XP. When I used it certain files become incompatible due to the icon registry.

Yes,I should have said that.I only voted for W95 as it was a big jump going from using one of them handheld things(was a psion or pye thing) on 3.1,to W95 on a 15" desktop pc.I liked NT c/w Lotus Notes, but now I use W7/XP dual boot as that covers my car tuning software..

Hehe, those are 3rd party and usually come with spyware. The only good thing about them is the themes, etc that you can do yourself anyway.
    Unless you're joking?
