Haven't you heard? The basis of pleasure is Satan. To feel any sort of pleasure, emotionally and physically is Satanic and abhorred by the eyes of God.

Also hedonism ftw. Which translates to, Satan ftw.

And plus, he's not all bad, in the Bible he's only done a couple things which are arguably not that evil, but whatever. I mean, he gave humans free will, and he offered bread to Jesus when he was hungry and he offered him whatever he wanted, is that so evil?

I'd rather not go on a religious tangent but whatever.

Man, I just see the guy as a prosecuting attorney who got a bad rap when everyone started to get all anti-Semitic and stuff.

If you don't love Bender you've got a mental illness.

I'm just gonna say that I'd be more comfortable with robot odalisques than with HAL 9000.

I'd be more comfortable with HAL if the movie didn't suck as bad as it did.

First off, this is a rant thread, second bait all you want as I'm not gonna bite :p

OK, by following your logic are you saying that Bestiality is fine? And Pedophilia too?

These are things that do happen in private but they are absolutely not OK, especially the Pedophilia part.

    And...

Be my guest, as you yourself are violating what you are preaching. My rant thread, my business you don't like my opinions then get the fudge out LOL!

Robots = intelligent vibrators/fleshlights. I don't see the problem here.

Japan love robots, so its not that weird if they love robots literally. Hell if robot like "Chi" existed, i dont mind being with one if i havnt watch this -> Dont Date Robots

There was a story on Gizmodo a little while ago about a robot that married a couple in Japan: http://gizmodo.com/5540435/robot-marries-couple-inwhere-elsejapan
The groom looks more like the robot to me to be honest : / Maybe he is, maybe they all are and the erotic robots in anime are just a way to desensitise the west before assimilating us O_0

i agree with you, japanese people take that robot shit too far, thats like falling in love with your toolbox, even if the robot thing you've created to like you, loved you its like ike making tina love him... its all forced anyway :D thats pretty sad i mean c'mon

At least somebody here sees things the way I do :p

    Good analogy there mate :)

Yeah, people who have no life :p

Seriously, a virtual person has limited dynamics than the actual thing :p

I tell you if this continues, the Japanese might become extinct :p

Ever watched that one Futurama episode where Fry falls in love with a robot & Bender tells him of the time humanity almost became extinct because people just wanted to spend time with robots instead of actual people.

Also, as nu885 also said, it's all forced. That is you programmed the robot (or in the case of Love Plus, the game) so that the virtual person will be "forced" to love you no matter what. Say you were having an orgy with five real life women & while doing so are playing with your virtual wife, because she was just a program she won't get mad even if you're blatantly cheating in her face. Had she been an actual person....

EDIT - Reaction to stanley's post:

I sense a hint of racism in that picture mate & I hope you have the decency to realise it too :p

i can see the racism in it but i got a good laugh and im not racist at all and he's in "littlekillism" so that doesnt surprise me...

and why isnt the gay community furious with this? since they fight so hard to marry the same sex and people in japan have been getting married to robots for years hahaha

i think the obsession with robots and japan is the fact that they are in love with technology itself and robots are a symbol of that im guessing

    Good point there sir :)

As I said earlier, I loved it when the Japanese were only obsessed with Giant Super Robots as I too am guilty of that, but when they turned towards making love with & marrying robots was what turned me off.

Anyway, after having posted this thread & getting over Megaman Zero, which I will NEVER EVER play again I have thoroughly cooled off :)

What are you talking about? It's about the worst analogy I've seen today! He was saying that sentient machines and non-sentient machines are the same thing. That's like saying a human is just basically a steak and falling in love with a human is like falling in love with a lamb chop.

Depends on who you talk to :p Seriously though, AI is going to keep improving, perhaps in as little as 20 years you won't be able to tell the difference between a chat bot and an actual person.

That was actually a propaganda video the professor showed him, it never actually happened in the story.

I agree that it's a bit weird that they try to develop relationships with modern robots as they're rather primitive. But it's not limited to people in Japan. And the idea of having a relationship with a machine is understandable, if the AI is good enough.
