It happened me a lot when playing Pokemon Red. I was battling one of the Gym leaders, and it was my lucky day, I won for a few HP, and then I noticed the batteries were weak. I started skipping the dialogs, but too late. The GBC was already gone.

What happened to me once (thanks God it was only once) was I was saving because the batteries were weak, and when the warning appeared, "SAVING... DON'T TURN OFF THE POWER", it did. The batteries went off.

I'll never get over that. :p

ditto with the "close save" (close shave) hahaha The ds lite when new, doesn't last as long on red light as the gbaSP does.... found that out when it turned off on me mid game.

with a DS lite, you have about 10 seconds to find a power source. lol

edit: late night posts cause me to miss words.

or save. Actually it can be more like 10min but its riska'y hahaha. The sp could atleast turn the light off. and give you another 3hours on red. hahaha

In total annihilation. tauniverse.com or download.com for demo or wiki total annihilation.
Using a third party AI "blackstorm" Getting majorly nuked to hell before building anti missile defense. Also beating elite 4 in pokemon and wandering around trying to find more entertainment because you can;t rebattle gym leaders for fun.

And getting wiped in any of the battle league type things.

Also personally, spending a year and half building a custom install of total annihi. only to get stuck at the final install menu and spending 2 months trying to figure it out.

one thing i loved about the gold silver crystal was that you could "rebattle" gym leaders from kanto (even though it was technically your first time in the 2nd gen.)

it was kind of like re challenging them from the first generation.

that, plus the added effect of time so they had better pokemon and some people got promotions (like koga)

Yeah I liked that two. (I'm happy that they might make a remake of gold and silver)

Anyways the most frustrating thing that ever happened to me was: While I was playing Elder Scrolls III Morrowing I got bored of running aroung killing people in my main quest completed game, so I decided to start a new one. You think that I accidently saved over my completed game. No, I didn't, I saved over my brothers game and when he found out he deleted morrowind of the memory. That game took me like 90+ hours to finish. I was so mad, I tried to fight him.....he destroyed me (come on he's 7 years older than me). Bad memories.

P.S. I decided to quit playing Morrowind

Trading in videogames they don't make anymore. then trying to rebuy them 10yrs later. +/- a few yrs.

Thus this website. and amazon used games, and ebay and ebgames online. "searching for best price as well" instead of buying new systems, i buy old games, instead of a 600$ system and 1 game, i buy 600$ of used games. and a few replacement ps2's and xbx's and Gcubes. :)

i have NEVER traded in a game before.
    basically for that reason.

Yeah I stopped selling games for the same reason about the time that I got a PS2, but if I couldn't find a game that I wanted to rebuy at a local store I just waited until I could emulate whatever it was. Although sometimes games disappear for other reasons, one time I let a friend at school borrow Xenogears for PSX, but then it got stolen out of his locker before he ever got home. Fortunately, he paid me back for it and I was able to find it used shortly after (which was very lucky because even after they rereleased the game it was hard to find and this was before that). Come to think of it I haven't seen my Kingdom Hearts 2 in about a year and a half, crap...

My most frustrating thing was (and still is) when there is a 15 year old ultraskilled old boy who plays the day for 8 hours (love the BFheroes thingy) in a online shooter

Here's another annoying thing that happens to me a lot now that I play games on emulators:

So like, I'm immersed in gameplay right & something nasty happened, like I died or I messed something up. I know I "saved in game", that is I saved using the game's save feature. Then instead of resetting the game, my damn hand presses on "load state", & lo & behold! My last save state was like several events ago! I try to reload the game by resetting but my save state has reset my .srm file to the previous save I did before I saved a save state, which is worse! Dang!

Another frustrating thing I encounter a lot, especially with NES emulation is pressing save state at the wrong time, like accidentally pressing save state AFTER i get hit by an enemy, instead of AFTER I avoid an attack, usually happens when I don't want to die with very little lifebar points remaining. ;D

For emulators I just decided to start exclusively using save states because things got confusing when I used both, but then came the problems of slipping up and hitting save when I mean to load. I've accidentally replaced a whole saved game with a game over screen this way, then I learned the importance of two save files.

Sometimes I got some save files confused, happened to me sometimes, but I only got pissed off when it was with RPGs, because they take a lot more time than other games. Then I realized I needed two folders, I had created a backup folder and a saves folder, then when I was to replay the game, I checked both then choose one. Never mistook anything again.

i have my backups saved in progression.
everytime i would complete a level, or do anything important, or get to the next savepoint i would back up the save.

    save.sav (1)
    save.sav (2)
    save.sav (3)
    save.sav (n-1)
    save.sav (n)

last one being the most recent.
sometimes i would have to go back a few saves because of something that is irreversible, and the one before it could not fix it.

Final Fantasy 9 Pissed me off.

Was Facing the Final Guy of the game on the 4th Disk. Some next Flying Girl Edilon lookin Thing. got it to 10Hp Litrilly, Then it casted CURGAGA (Something Around Those Lines) Straight After that he had an other go and casted Auto Revive, Then had his 3rd go (WTF !!?? 3 Goes In a Row) And Casted Auto Regen (Heals Every 5 / 10 Seconds). i had my 4 goes with my 4 chacters. Then its his turn again *Sigh* Casted CURAGAGA Again, Then Casted Some Move That Turns My Players Into Zombies So If i use Anything that heals it will take of damage instead Equal to how much i would of healed. Then it was my turn and guess what? Because i had Auto Regen On all my Characters (Ablity was Set not Casted) My Hp was Going Down EVery 5 / 10 Seconds. and i had ATB on (Active Time Battle) So i was Sure to loose. i Tryed to use Ensuna to get rid Of the Effect but guess what? I DIDNT LEARN IT !!! OMG !!!! So i just Attacked It WIth Ark (Gangsta Summon Move) Then It was His Turn. out of everything he could of done. He heals my Character with CURAGAGA And all of them Instantly Die.

    That was G*Y !!!!

you could always cast Reflect on him.

and Esuna is not the end-all to status defects. sometimes it doesn't cure Zombie (in some of the installments it doesn't.)
