What games are you currently playing?

Same, but on XBox

 

Dropped Phoenix Wright due to it dragging on, and started playing Chrono Trigger on the DS.

 

Started playing Chrono Cross for PS1 a while back, when I eventually beat it, I'll play Trigger again. I was pretty impressed with these games to say the truth; some very solid RPGs. Speaking of DS, maybe I'll start playing Soul Silver again, now that I'm in an RPG state of mind...

 

Squaresoft made some solid RPGs when it was still Squaresoft.
I can't say the same thing now that they're Square-Enix.

Chrono Cross is a great game as well, and it's so radically different from Chrono Trigger that I hardly consider it a sequel.

It seems my own comment got me to start playing FF9 on my PS3.

PS3 hacker scene just released (more like 2 weeks ago) a new method of playing backed up PSOne discs using multiman.
This is the first time I've seen FF9 on a console, the way it's supposed to look. Seems like my emulator settings were pretty spot on when I played it back in 2007.

Last time I played FFIX was back in 2006, on the PS1. I never got past disc 3 iirc. D:

 

Disc 3 for the three Final Fantasies on the PSX is a death sentence for me.

Since FF7 and FF8 were also on the PC, I had them on the PC. I got to Disc 3 THREE TIMES on FF8 and each one ended up with a corrupted save. And all three times, I had an extremely low level game.

Disc 3 on FF7 just gets overwhelming, and I tend to get this feeling in most games once you've unlocked any new features or the levels gains start to level off, or your main character is unusable, or the game just gets way too goddamn grim. That, and Chocobo breeding sucks ass.

Disc 3 on FF9 blows the minute you have to start doing Chocobo treasure hunts. This game also discourages me from playing since it's damn near impossible to get the Excalibur II without hitting eject on the PSX tray during FMVs (it supposedly skips them, and if you read my previous comment, I'm playing this on the PS3), which basically means it is impossible to do the speed run.

 

Damn, that sucks... The only ones I ever finished are FF4 and FF7.

 

Picked up Phantasy Star Portable 2 again, after seeing a friend playing it.
