What audio/video player do you use?

Windows Media Player is amazing for audio as the library looks really awesome and organises all your music nicely by band, album etc. I use that. When you add too much stuff to it, it becomes slower when you scroll down but interchanging between songs is very fast.

As for video nothing beats Media Player Classic. It's so easy to use and great. Love that program.

Winamp does all that without the slowness.

It even has something that allows you to access your music library over the INTERNET! Coolio!

I found WinAmp's interface too confusing.
VLC for video - it will play absolutely everything you throw at it, plus it's compatible with all the major OSs.
Windows Media Player 11 for audio - it just looks really cool and the SRS WOW effects (under Enhancements) make music sound amazing.

a decent soundcard does a much better job than SRS WOW.

True, but since sound cards are one place lots of people skimp on when buying/building computers (even though they shouldn't), it helps having some good software support.

    Yeow!

That's a pretty powerful soundcard there loony, gotta check local PC stores if any of 'em carry that, & most importantly, how much it costs.

get it off the net, you'd get a better deal anyway. I paid £97 for my D2/PM and it's driving Tevion 5.1 speakers.

Media Player Classic was based on the old versions of Windows Media Player, GUI anyway.

Dang, I can't find my copy of the installers for the K-lite codecs & Media Player Classic that I've burned somewhere.

Can you guys post the links here to the download sites for said applications please? :-[

As for me, I've never had a problem with Windows Media Player when it comes to playing music , its all well organized and I do not need any other features that WMP doesnt have.
When it comes to video, I always use VLC Player, with this I dont have go to through the trouble of installing tons of codecs. And I keep Media Player Classic when VLC has problems with those weird MKV files and MP4 videos.

    Audio - winamp
Video - Either MPC or VLC, both are amazing.

I have Winamp Remote installed so I can also listen to my music library over the interwebs.
