Sounds like my mother's spending habbits...give to the poor while your still poor.

Funny thing being helpful/worried about how other's are isn't it-especially when you got power.

I suppose he wanted the votes to be on his side...

Easy there, I almost said the same thing myself, your reply seems harsh but I admire how realistic your reply is.

But yours was more or less aimed, just saying.

Now let's calm down and resuming hoping for the best for these poor people.

It was most certainly for votes. With the General Election looming, he wants to get ahead of the conservatives. A little too late in my books. Giving away more money we don't have (remembering he sold a lot of our gold reserves when gold was at a low selling point) to a cause that we have no justification in being a part of, will just make things worse.

I feel sorry for the people, and it was a tragic thing. But nature is harsh. And disasters like this happen often. I think there is a syndrome where you have seen so many of these images (from africa and such) that you no longer feel the need to care. I forget the name, but, I feel it ever more present.

Honestly, I think they have bigger problems than the earthquake aftermath. their government collapsed as did the police force and other agencies. and they are now dependent on the US calling the shots. if their government and law enforcement are unable to withstand a natural disaster then thats a major problem for any nation.

ha your laughable and a royal idiot for attacking me and missing the whole point of mentioning about my GF.
the point of that was to show that people have pointless emotional reactions to things and no matter how many pictures of dead bodies you see it's not going to have any difference on what you can do bar feel sorry for someone which serves no purpose.

also i don't know what you class as a real man but i have a big dick and dangley balls and a big hairy chest, we have been together for over 5 years and have child together so i don't think i'm gona be left because i don't want to feel sorry for a natural disaster or look at pictures of dead people. i work and provide for my family, i protect my family and do all in my power to keep them happy, safe and healthy. my child was ill when born and for 6 months of his life we were constantly told he would die and i held her hand the whole time and was her rock even though i was 18 and got her up the duff after knowing her for a few weeks, i have never left her, lied to her or hurt her and only ever been good to her.

so i don't know what your idea of a "real man" is but i don't really want to know, saying fuck off because i don't want to look at dead people because the media coverage emotionally overwhelms her does not have any detriment to my manhood.

and your example of praying and mind over matter serves my point that it's only purpose is to make the person praying feel better it has no effect on those trapped under rubble.

I know how to end every third-world country's misery: Just nuke 'em all. Problem solved.

haiti is in crisis, due to unstable governament, no jobs, no food, but the U.N. (united nation) from Brazil are in to help the poor country.

nuking would render the land unusable, so not really a viable option. bombs and a nice clean up with bullets ok now we are talking ;D

joke by the way before anyone spazes out.

The earthquake worked well enough. No need to waste money when mother nature does your work for you.

Yeah... Plain ol' bombs are what would be needed. Or low-radiation nukes.

prayer works, you're just blinded to the fact. but my life is proof. and yours could be as well.

I have a strong belief that most people in our world are just totally heartless unless the situation pertains to them directly. that is just sad.

That is a seriously naive comment. I'd turn it around and say that you're just too blinded by your faith to see that whatever happened did so for logical reason which can be analysed. In your need for faith you decided to ignore these reasons and attribute everything good to your prayer instead.

    Sadly..that's true.
But don't give up, there's always some good people around...just hard to find.

i have no need for faith, i choose to want something in my life that has proven to be more important that physical, tangible facts. it has nothing to do with religion. it just has to do with the belief in a being far greater than you can imagine because our minds are so small as humans, living our lives most of the time without questioning why we do this routine of being born, getting married getting a job and dying, what about the other great things in this world to be explored, believing in something wont kill you, so why not give it a try, commit yourself, and see if it works, i did, and i'm totally satisfied. so i'm bot being naive.

When did giving money to a disaster or caring about a disaster elsewhere make anyone good? If anything it makes them blinding hypocrites. People seek out the desire to be GOOD and force themselves to care about something they have no right in caring about.

there is good every where, if any one is heartless it's only a reaction to the world that surrounds them.

if you stop looking to demonize everyone you can see good in most people.
