yes its safe to play psx games. you need to convert them into a eboot.pbp file just google "convert psx to eboot".
as for the question "What are your favorite PSX games" i dont know im trying to find a good game to download to play on my psp

 

My favorite game the Tekken 3. Why? The first fighting game in my life (ok, it's not true, cause the first fightingg game in my life the VF 2 but the Tekken is the best) very good and creative character's (Yoshimitsu, King, Paul, Kuma etc. Jesus, this team is great), nice stage's, great music, so I like this game. (sorry everybody, I know my english is very bad, but I think, you understand the entity)

Final Fantasy tactics is definitely one of my all time favs.
krazy ivon was fun to play if not just to watch the live ation scenes of krazy russians.
always a fan of the twisted metal series except 3 kinda put me off. maybe i just didnt give it a fair chance.
Einhander was fun.
Jumping flash was weird but fun to play.

i never really was good at fighting games but i love me some tekken(yoshimitsu and kuma and the little dinosaur just cuz they used their bodily functions to attack)
even though they were terrible crossovers warcraft 2 and diablo were fun.
