your machine is let down by your ram. 1x1GB and 1x2GB will be running in single channel.

What do i do to fix that loony?

you need all your ram modules to be the same size (and density) and you must have an even number of them.

Then, make sure you have 64-bit OS, otherwise it will not work, I think

my modest system is as follows: (at least the things I know)

    AMD 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ (2.2Ghz)
    2GB RAM
    nVidia GeForce 8600GT
    140 GB Hard Drive
Have a regular LG Cathode RT monitor, (I know) but getting an LCD soon.

That's all I need and has been doing a great job for my purposes. Am happy with it, though looking to get a new graphics card and an extra hard drive soon too.

Cool :) you have more RAM though and your hard drive is huge. I'm running out of space on my one. How does the 8500GT run? I like the 8600GT but can see its starting to choke a little on games like Crysis and Gears of War. Wonder if its actually not from my RAM though...

Actually read the post.I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit.
And to the guy running P5 Nd your ram statement is untrue.Seeing as you have 1066 bus while the board supports 800 bus.

I also have another desktop that's hooked up to a 1080i 32" LCD TV and cheap 7.0 sound system (no more subwoofer...) with a Logitech MX1000 mouse, and a laptop. If you really want to see their specs check the other thread.
