the big turn-off for Detective Conan is the lack of a true story
the serie itself feels like a big spoiler

Wow, you managed to watch Inuyasha and bleach and came away with the thought that more episodes means it is a quality anime.
Well boy it is about time you learned the true meaning of quality anime.

First off you are going to watch these anime in this order
    Mobile Suit Gundam 0079
    MS Igloo
    MS Igloo 2
    08th MS Team
    MSG: War in the Pocket
    MSG: Stardust Memory
    Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta
    MSG: Chars Counter attack

That will take you through the one year war, it's aftermath, the Titans, and the rise and fall of Neo Zeon. All in all 150+ episodes give or take a dozen. Do yourself a favor and don't even think about double zeta. Igloo 2 is the only thing I haven't watched but if it is anywhere near the quality of Igloo then it is worth watching. Has super cg, the first ep alone was like 2 gigs to download.

Next my boy you are going to watch yourself some Patlabor, it's police with giant robots and all that entails. It is 47 episodes long but there are a couple of movies you can watch to pad the length. I only ever watched the Wasted XIII movie but it was pretty great.

Next you move on to Macross

Starting with Super Dimension Fortress Macross
    Then Macross Plus
    Then Macross Plus sequel
    Macross 7
    Macross 7 sequels
    Macross Frontier

That will give you a 120+ eps

Next you take a small break with Mazinger Z and Gao Gai Gar, because you have a complete lack of hotblood. Or if you want enough hot blood to last you a year take it in pill format with Gurren Lagann, just try to tell me that it is crappy, go on I dare ya.

Now we go to Robotech, at this point you might bring up that robotech and Macross are the same, you couldn't be more wrong.

    Robotech: Macross Saga
Robotech: The Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross
    Robotech: Genesis Climber MOSPEADA
There are also a slew of movies to watch with this
The three anime alone will put you at 70 episodes.

If super robots are more your thing go watch Voltron.

Post Statement: Naruto is definitely on its way to wrapping up, I think I remember reading something where the author stated that he wanted to end it within a year or two. Since you know, naruto actually has a good story and a author who has the balls to move on to doing another series and not just milking his existing franchise to death. Unlike certain other manga which are 90% shots of people looking angsty or speedlines *cough* bleach *cough*

Full Moon o Sagashite has fifty-two episodes. A good weepy shoujo fix.
Keroro Gunsou is hilarious, with 300 episodes and counting.
Prince of Tennis has like, 180 episodes or something.
Transformers has loads of episodes, though I forget the exact number.

I suppose you could count Eureka Seven as a Long series, though it only has 50.
