1. Code Geass (Definitely if you liked Death Note. A classic.) 2. Fullmetal Alchemist (Watch this first and then the Conqueror of Shambala movie after it, which completes the series. Then try out Brotherhood to see if you like it) 3. Samurai Champloo (Especially if you like fast-pace samurai action and blood) 4. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (If you really like Mecha, then this is for you) 5. Bleach (If you're going to try out any Shounen anime. Try Bleach. It's the best compared to Naruto or One Piece in my opinion)

Claymore (Then read the manga) Shiki Kara no Kyoukai The UC Gundam series (Original, Zeta, ZZ, Char's Counterattack, F91, Victory) [Would add Unicorn, but it's not done yet] Fate/Zero [still airing] Hellsing Ultimate Valkyria Chronicles Just off the top of my head. Try Flame of Recca. It's a bit similar to Yu Yu Hakusho, in my opinion. Though it's a lot shorter. The manga's good too. Also, Fushigi Yuugi came to mind when I read this:
Meh. It's not for everyone, but I think you'll like it. Also, check out The Future Diary. It's a new anime actually (currently ongoing) and it's really good. Look it up ^^ Note: You'll probably have to search it by it's Japanese name if you want to watch it: "Mirai Nikki"
I recommend reading the manga beforehand. It clears up a lot of inconsistencies and holes in the storyline in the anime if you do. Also, the manga is one of the best I've read.
A little late now, but for one off movies I'd give Perfect Blue a watch. Just seen it myself and man, does it mess with your head. Ending was satisfying though.

if you are going to watch Gurren Lagan someday I am going to sugest to watch G-GUNDAM before that because G-GUNDAM IS MADE OF AWESOME (Pm me if you want DL links to one with Japanese Audio as an option due the hard to find not dubbed one)
Agreed. Just finished it not that long ago. Gemini and Gaiden weren't as good as the first season, but still pretty good.
ok since there is a thread like this I'd like to ask what anime I should watch.Since I get an extreme lack of free times nowadays I'd like a short anime like upto 12-15 episodes.I prefer anime that involve fantasy-ish elements , comedy and of course some romance never hurts (as long as it's not inuyasha-ish)
