What am I doing wrong?

You need to install winrar in order to unpack the kernal and files from it's rar arcive

Same with the games

 

i know, i haven't used an R4 SDHC before either,

using R4's is like walking through a minefield,

try the 1st option

 

I have Winrar, it was the first thing I downloaded.

did you extract the .nds file from the rar with winrar?

 

It seams that way to me in his first post...

That he has put the files onto his R4 SDHC card without unpacking it from the rar arcive first

Install your winrar program, and your downloaded file's will look diffrent, You dubble click on it to see what's inside the rar
