What IS Moonshell, and why does nobody seem to talk about it... at all?

 

Hmm, I'll try what mk2007 did aswell because i'm pretty sure its a firmware problem.

That is what i use on my DS (even my theme is there ), all DAT's from the ROM patch have already been added so you only need the patched rom, which is in my post above.

Place all files in the root of your card!.

Also, make sure you clean your card of any other firmware, try formatting your card then add the firmware in the link. try removing Moonshell and any other kernel/firmware.

Did that work, or get any different results?

um hi dudes i gotz an r4 sdhc with ys menu as a .nds file and i need to know how to set it up to work (plz dont tell me to read other posts, ive read them all)

the ROM i changed the name still cvn-mio
cvn-mio-fixed is in the other file, the size is 0kb
what should i do..?
and the patch isn't working too
just drag the ROM file to DIYFix_DST, right..?
it said "cannot find file to patch"

 

Moonshell is the media readinig thing that can play music and videos, it isn't talked about it much is because it doesn't help either play or patch games and it doesn't really have much problems, it just... works *shrug*

But I have one problem... when choose the game it says to create a SAV file and of course I choose create except it's taking a long time as in forever. is it meant to be like this or did I miss a step? :O

After a while, it said it can't make a SAV file and whenever I choose the game from the menu it says "Error: Can't open NDS file" D:

Now when I boot my DS up, it says it couldn't find _DS_MENU.DAT

O...M....G..... when I inserted the sd card into my USB and onto my computer it has all these random files with the same weird symbol. wow... i fully effed it up D:
T.T I had Kingdom Hearts 358-2 days on it :S and Style Boutique D: Nearly finished.

ohmygosh, I'm such an idiot! >.<" I think I now know why it didn't work. I didn't leave enough space for the 32 MB SAV file. D: gahh.
Now I re-formatted my R4, re-installed YSMenu (tyy for the Godot Theme ) and it works fine

ALSO... to other R4 users ... I heard that YSMenu only works for REAL R4's and that R4SDHC are fake ones... trust me. I have a R4SDHC and YSMenu didn't work :O I tried on my other R4 which wasn't SDHC and it worked! (YSMenu that is.) But I could be wrong

 

Patched the ROM correctly and it works on my M3-DS Simply/YSMenu. It takes a while to create that initial save file though (32 MB)!

My YSMenu works fine and my flashcart is a clone. If it doesn't work for your flashcart, you've installed it incorrectly.

EDIT: BTW, this is what you must do.

1-Use a clean ROM (128MB).
2-Put a precreated 32MB savefile with the same name as the rom in the card.
3-Patch.
4-Done!

 

Just wanted to report that I have it working on an EZFlash Vi with RC14 and no fix/patch on it (as far as I know. Just downloaded straight from the site and it worked.) This one is a lot more fun than I expected. Thanks a bunch!

*EDIT: Wanted to add.. if it hangs while creating the save file, give it time. If it takes too much time (it did for me the first time), I just shut the unit off, deleted the save file, and tried again. It worked within about 20 seconds or so the second time and has been working/saving great ever since.

Can anyone give me a detailed step by step as to where to put the .dat files from the YSMenu fix? I've patched the rom and placed the files in TTMenu but it still doesn't load
