no it doesnt mean we're safe, just that the corporates that want to censor the internet have had a setback.

I imagine the shutdown is still going ahead because it will drive home the point.

God help us, I can already smell the riots on the horizon. If it gets voted in, I'm locking myself indoors to avoid the mayhem....doesnt mean I cant chuck bricks from the windows at passers by. :3

    THE WORLD IS ENDING!!! RUN!!!

I knew it. Googles cares to much about profit these days. They won't risk a day of buisnuess, even if it has the chance to save them in the future.

I read this article here http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-01-18/google-rallies-opposition-to-murdoch-backed-anti-piracy-bill.html, There is a section of the article one person thinks you are to stupid to know whats going on if you don't wan't read the whole thing here is part of it.
The so-called blackout day to protest anti-piracy legislation is “abuse of power given the freedoms these companies enjoy in the marketplace today,” Christopher Dodd, chairman of the Motion Picture Association of America, said in an e-mailed statement yesterday.

“It’s a dangerous and troubling development when the platforms that serve as gateways to information intentionally skew the facts to incite their users in order to further their corporate interests,” said Dodd, a Connecticut Democrat who served three decades in the Senate.

    More then likely yes.
SOPA will probably not pass but from what I heard it may have passed under a different name since megaupload is down and the founder and the people working for it were arrested it more then likely did pass under a different name.
Better hurry and grab some popcorn for SHIT IS ABOUT TO GET STARTED
