They've had full control admin rights from the beginning. I tried r3947 first as well (unless there's another version of it called svn3947 too.), and that is the only one that mentions it is "gonna have to nuke a packet".

Edit: I just gave both DeSmuMe and WinPcap full control over everything I possibly could, and nothing changed. I reinstalled WinPcap multiple times, and nothing changed. I installed WinPcap 4.1.1, and nothing changed. Everything I've done has also been under an exeception for Data Execution Prevention as well, and nothing at all has changed.

I'm positive that if whatever my issue is can be solved, then anyone else with the same issue that I've seen can benefit from the solution.

That "nuke a packet" info you got; Was it on SVN 3947? Cause that info is what you need to see to know that it work. You need to be patient, that "crap, gonna nuke a packet" will show up several time when doing a download/connecting. Other than that, do make sure you are using the x64 version whenever possible since your window is x64.

I'm trying the x64 version of r3947 once more. I do get the "gonna have to nuke a packet" message constantly, but other than that, there's no change whatsoever.

And for the record, I've attempted to establish a connection at least 25 times for every revision I'd tried to connect to WFC on. I KNOW it connects, because it does say that SoftAP connects, but at the very last moment, it disconnects.

@Muuv Stehpah- Have you ever tried giving the emulator a Static IP address? My emulators could never find my IP address when I just let it auto connect, but when I manually did WFC settings to give it a Static IP it would connect right away.

@Prectorian- I know you can't really help me any more with my problem, but I was just wondering if you know anything about Linksys router's, specifically WRT54G, and if it is able to run desmume. I really don't want to have to buy a new router but I believe this could be my problem. I also have a discontinued brand of a Motorola modem, could this be my problem?

The thing is... I'm not using a router. I'm connected directly to a modem, and every tutorial I've viewed only gives directions for people with routers, unless I'm missing something? If you could direct me to a tutorial that works with modems, that would be great.

Also, I've tried inputting all the information manually (as in, all the same info from ipconfig /all in the command line), but I get the 52100 error instead. I'm not sure if that's progress, or a step back.

Yikes man, I've never seen a guide specifically for modem only connection. For help with error codes use Nintendo's support page to type in code if you want. That error code is supposed to be a router problem, which is odd for your situation. Before I said give the emulator a Static IP address but I don't even believe that will work for modem only because I don't think modems have an IP range that can be used.

You might be able to find some sidenotes in forums for people who managed different ways to connect, but overall, you might need a router.

Fortunately I'll be getting a router soon for my home, so hopefully that fixes the issue. I'm surprised that I'm the only person that has trouble connecting to WFC with just a modem.

Are you even sure that you're connecting via LAN Broadband instead of Dial Up? Cause if its cabled LAN then it should have worked, else will not. Anyway, do try again after you get the new peripheral.

I... kind of feel a little insulted that you think that I'm trying to connect via dial up and I mentioned broadband by mistake, but I know that was not your intention, haha.

Anyway, like I said, I'm connected to an ethernet modem directly, with no router currently. I have absolutely no idea what could be preventing me from connecting to WFC. :(

My only intention on asking that question was to reconfirm about what sort of connection you're using, that's about all.
Anyway, strange indeed you can't connect to WFC on your current peripheral. Cause it should have been straight forward, or at least with minor hickup issue.

Hey I am having a nightmare trying to get this to work for me! I was wondering if anyone could help me troubleshoot anything I haven't thought of or done already!

I used both the guide here and the one on Romulation to get WIFI working but it all ends up with error code: 52101
So I followed the help and changed my IP and DNS settings to manual as suggested and now its error code: 52100
So I had a look at the router, it's a Netgear Virgin Media crap one so not many settings, but I tried channel 11 instead of 1 and I also noticed that when I'm testing my connection, I can see a 'Nintendo DS' on the client list, so at least it's getting that far!

I also had a look in the cmd window whilst its testing connection and I can a line saying
    WIFI: SoftAP dosconnected
That pops up just before either error.

So I've also tried all the above on another computer, it was on a Windows 7 laptop, now on a Windows 7 desktop, both with UAC and all firewalls turned off and an Admin account and still run as admin too, just in case!
    Same errors.
So I went back to r4003, I was using r4153, same errors
So I went WAY back to svn3947, also because it uses WinPcap v4.1.1 instead of v4.1.2, just in case it was that...no change
I've also tried a few different firmwares, so many different combinations of settings in Config>Wifi and emulator but I still get these same error codes!
I really don't know what else to try! I hate posting noobish stuff like this because I always like to troubleshoot it for myself, as I have done, but I am pretty stuck now...

    Thanks in advance!

    Pav

p.s. the game I am trying to get online with is Pokemon Diamond...because I'm sad like that...

From what I can think of is that you might have a conflicting IP Address. Seems like you have more than 1 computer linked to that router device, or that device got a WIFI antena and LAN cable on it. If yes, then likely you'll never get in to work. Or give this method a try by manually changing from your Network Connection option from bridging to PPOE or PPOA. Or try doing this troubleshooting : CLICK HERE TO SEE THE METHOD.

Thanks prectorian, like I said, I did try manually setting the IP address so it wouldn't clash as per Nintendo's guidelines (the same ones you linked to) and I just get error 52100. I also can see the DS on my router's connected devices list when its attempting to connect and it is getting assigned an IP so I'm guessing that's not the issue.

As for the router, its shared with my housemates so there are about 8 wireless connections and 1 wired for my desktop too, I didnt realise these would affect the emulator/winpcap's ability to connect?! I can unplug my desktop if that helps, but my housemates will get upset if I kick them all off the Wifi! :p

I have also since attempted to connect with my Android phone, with Wifi settings recognising my phone as networking hardware, but I get the same errors still :-\

As for PPOE and PPOA, my router sucks so it doesn't have any settings for that!

    Any other ideas?

With the current setup as you have, that means all 8 + your computers running through the same router, means its unlikely you'll be able to use the feature, cause that confirm the issue of having conflicting IP for the emulator to work on. Sorry.

Not all android phone can be use for the purpose, has to be through cyanogen 6.1 via mytouch 3g. It does have risk that could cause issues to your android phone.

Will it just not work if you have a wireless internet connector? I've tried a lot of stuff and I get 52000

I was fairly convinced that it was being assigned an IP as when it attempts to connect I can see it in the router's devices list with its own IP, but even so I had a go just now, whilst the rest of my housemates are asleep and kicked all devices off wifi, so literally just my laptop on a LAN cable into the router, and the result was exactly the same!

I even got out my old laptop with XP on it and tried that but still the exact same result?!

I dont know how it can have an IP address conflict when it's got 252 to choose from and even when manually set I get an error that nintendo say is due to IP conflict?! its driving me mad now, mainly because a lot of people seem to have it up and running with no problems :(

Thanks for the help so far, anything else you think I could try?

Unfortunately I can't think of any other possible solution.

    No it will not work.
