Is it possible to use a virtual (bridged) lan connection?

I keep getting the 52100 "unable to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi connection" Error.

I'm connecting to SoftAP and receiving packets, but it will discount after several packets are received. Any suggestions? I'v followed all the different tips offered in the OP and several other posts.

As I said in my post (including the one I wrote in Reply #359). If you can't get it to work on the latest version, go for the ver. r3947). Its older but more stable. As the newer ones had to compromise between speed and reliability. And do make sure you are connected through the proper way as stated; if you are trying other method other than the ones I had state as working or not working; then its back to you to do the testing; I'm not familiar with what Virtual LAN (VLAN) is; I've read about it but never tried using it before. So I haven't anything to say about it. The one who made the emulator did say that it only work on cable based LAN (wired broadband LAN).

DIAL-UPs? As in hook a phone line cable direct to your laptop/PC, then you have to press DIAL/Connect, where you then hear a "dialing tone"? That method you mean? Not possible.

    But if you mean:

Telephone line -- LAN Modem (not the wireless version) --- LAN Cable -- PC/Laptop

Yes, it will work very well.

    UPDATE

If you buy Pokemon Black and/or White official/original cartridge from Target stores, you are entitled to acquire a code to unlock Lucario with special ability from the PGL site.

*Which idiot would buy the cart just to get 1 pokemon (Lucario) with special ability Justified; and not get anything else.....especially a game that is already stale. A bad bargain ........

thanks for everyhting, i was able to battle my friend in pokemon who plays on his DS, but i told my other friend about this and he got his desmume wifi working, but we are unable to battle eachother. i googled it and a lot of people are saying desmumes cant link to other desmumes. is that true, or is there any way to fix it?

I cannot battle my friend as well, as if the emulators time out and say they didn't get a response. If only we knew there was a way to fix this. Unless, we can get a group of testers to see if anyone gets a different result lol.

    oh no!
after i tried many ways and successful when using DeSmuMe v.0.9.7 r3947 WIFI with WinPcap v.4.1.2
(it says "Connection Succcessful" when i was doing test connection)
but when i tried GTS it says error code 20100
    noo...

is it because im using LAN-wifi-internet?
or is it because my internet provider using homepage that require ID and password?

Mostly its because of having a moden that run both WIFI and LAN that causes the issue. Try disabling the WIFI while playing, maybe it'll help. That is if your LAN is linked to your pc/laptop via cable (not wireless).

Sorry. I can't help you, cause you're not being informative.

You can't link 2 DeSmuMe activated on the same computer, you can't link 2 DeSmuMe over the same IP. But as far as I know you can link with any DeSmuMe or DS console as long as you have exchange friend code.

I got it working on mine, but it does sometimes cut off half way. But I had previously did some testing and had completed a race with it. Emulators can be irritating at times.

Uh sorry I mean when we communicate at the wifi club for (hg/ss) we attempt to either trade or battle. However, we either get error codes like 810XX (don't remember exactly) sometimes or we go as far as (person has contacted you!) then we wait and for both of us it says "person did not respond" after the wait. Also, mini-games work. I've tried connecting via ethernet to my router and using usb tethering via my Android Smartphone which yields the same results but I only tried one or three times on ethernet.

You use Android Smartphone to relay connection? That certainly won't work, that's why you get error codes. You can't use your phone to spread WIFI connection to both your PC/Laptop and your friends for use on DeSmuMe. Cause the 2 or more PC/Laptop will be using the same IP address. And that won't let you make use of the DeSmuMe Wifi feature.

If from your broadband modem you connect via LAN cable to your PC, and your friend some place else (that don't use the same IP address) doing the same method, then it will work. Anyway; playing HG/SS without connecting to wifi on DeSmuMe alone does has issues, it often hang even after using cheat codes to bypass the Anti Piracy countermeasures.

Uh my friend and I are using different connections (sorry for the misunderstanding). Perhaps, using white and black would result differently?

Hi everyone, i've got a Dragon Quest IX tag mode issue

I recently gave up on ever being able to tag mode with someone who has the MKS maps (Or anyone at all) i tried with quite a bit of frustration to set this up between my DS and Desmume but i was successful :). So far i have set up everything correctly (I got the connection successful screen) however when i select canvass guests both of them just keep canvassing and never recognize each other.

Anyone help from anyone who has done this successfully would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, can someone please tell me how to get the "output" log in Desmume?

Also, when I open WinPcap (rpcapd.exe) while desmume is running, the emulator shuts down by an error, but winpcap remains running, and then when I open desmume after that it doesn't shut down by the error anymore. (Im using Vista 32-bit)

Also, are there specific settings I need to adjust on my Network Adaptor Driver to make this work in the following location: (Local Area Connection > Properties > Configure > Advanced)? If it helps Im using Realtek RTL8168B/8111B Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NIC 6.0)

    Thanks.

The realtex you use is ok. There's no specific setting that you need to do besides the one already listed in page 1. Maybe just make sure to run the emulator in "Admin Mode" or set an exception for it so that it always run in admin mode. Other than that, there's nothing to alter.

Finally after several weeks trying my friend and i discovered a way to make it work, i have windows 7 ultimate 32 bits and my friend windows 7 professional 32 bits

i dont know if this solution has been discussed before since i havent read the entire thread but if you are getting this error when you open your desmume this may work for you too

first of all the only version that worked for both of us is this one

    3. DeSmuMe v.0.9.7 r3947 WIFI with WinPcap v.4.1.2 : Download Here

    What you gotta do is

download any of these firmware fixes that prectorian posted
    1. Firmware.dfc Option 1 : http://www.mediafire.com/?sxo0jchx0ye5b56
    2. Firmware.dfc Option 2 : http://www.mediafire.com/?uanhi61c6rn25ci

extract this file to the desmume folder

now open your desmume in administrator mode and open your pokemon rom you will see this error again
    [IMG]

now just press ctrl + r and the pokemon game will reset and now you will see this

after this just continue with the normal steps

now notice how it says connection succesful in the right window but then in the left windows says softap: disconnect, this doesnt matter you will still be able to connect to wifi

    hope this help others

The above post helped me greatly to get to "Connection Successful" status, but now I am having trouble doing anything.

Playing DQ 9 and trying to get into the online store. When I connect, I get the following error code: 20100

I'm on Lan (don't even have a wireless network card), and on cable so speed shouldn't be an issue. Firewall is off, anti-virus is off, using program as admin, using windows 7 (though same error when testing with windows XP), using DeSmuMe v.0.9.7 r3947 WIFI, using WinPcap v.4.1.2, router is Netgear WNDR3700, ISP is Comcast, and system is overclocked (does that even matter)?

Anyone have anything I can try to get it working?
