I run R4 SDHC with a 4gb microsdhc (idk the brand because its not printed).
I used the premade firmware posted on the front page of this thread and every one of my roms I tried had a error code 4, fail to load- reset system.
I am trying to play Pokemon Black/White and Okamiden.
For Pokemon, I have the clean roms, ips patched, rudolph patched, englishv2 patched, and both ips and rudolph patched.
I don't know if there are okamiden patches- but I doubt it since the game came out sept30th in japan.

Do I need roms with additional and/or different patches?
If so, which ones?
Or do I have a microsdhc card incompatibility?
Does it matter if its a sandisk or a kingston?

first, the premade is only for this r4 sdhc:

and you have to keep using the patched version, pokemon doesnt work yet

Clarification for all who want to help-

There are 4 cards hosted by that site.
I have the black one for normal ds and dsl (the one that has 1.34 latest firmware) as seen on that site. I assumed this was the one that the Premade was made for, as there was no specification otherwise.

The tiny memory card I use that goes inside the R4 SDHC and holds all the data is a 4gb microSDHC card. All I know of its origin is that it was made in Taiwan and it is not a Sandisk or a Kingston brand. I heard that sometimes the quality or even the size of the memory card can affect loading and gameplay. So one of my questions was- Even though the memory card type I am using is supported by the R4SDHC- Is there any way it could be contributing to my problem?

Clarification for me-
So because of YSmenu's incompatibility with certain roms:
-Pokemon Black/White does not work clean or otherwise patched in any form on the premade firmware- as of this moment.
-Since Okamiden came out later than Pokemon- it would seem that it has just as much if not more AP Protection and until there is a patch for it- It won't load either.

So a new question-
Is there an extensive list of games/roms somewhere on the web that ARE compatible (specified with patch or not)? I doubt there is one considering the amount of work it would take to make it. I guess its back to old trial and error for me. lol.

I don't know if this info will help but usually when they come out with a new update it usually solves the problem so if you keep getting an errcode=-4 or 5 u might need to wait.

yes, its only for the one you mentioned. i had this card before changing to acekard. but the point ios. yes, even though it is sdhc, it doesnt read sd cards of 8gb or above, it has some issues. also try formatting your card, that usually fixes solme bugs. the list you are asking for is in the text files from the fixes

Hey guys,

I've recently tried to install YsMenu on my R4 SDHC using this method. But, it tends to freeze on the YsMenu when I enter it. I've tried using other methods such as Firmware replacement and Media replacement instead of through file browser. When I used the method Firmware replacement, I was pretty much stuck on the loading screen and when I used Media replacement, it's the same as Through File browser, it just tends to freeze at the YsMenu itself, but the R4 menu seems to be working fine.

The fixes link in OP/Author doesn't seem to be working either. Any ideas what might be going on?

try formatting your card first

and do not erase the r4 firmware, just add ysmenu to the card without erasing anything from the sd card
