You can't know you like the game until you play it, you can't say an unreleased game is your favourite based on a trailer. That would be like me saying pokemon black is hands down the best one so far, or the Final Fantasy VI remake for 3ds is the best final fantasy remake so far.
Chrono Trigger, KH 358/2 Days, Sands of Destruction, Glory of Heracles, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (yes it is an rpg on the ds now and it;s awesome), Wizman's World and All Final Fantasy's except Revenant Wings.
Honestly, one of the best RPG's I've played on the DS would have to be Tales of Innocence. For one, IT ISN'T ANOTHER FREAKING STRATEGY RPG. For two, the game play is very involving, there is tons of replaybility, and it doesn't build its entire existence off of fan service. With the English patch, there is nothing left to make this game considered bad. The story line may not be too strong, but to be fair, none of the RPG's on that list are exactly flooding with a spectacular, original story.
A very big thanks for reminding me man! I had forgotten about this, was expecting about 2-3 years for the release.
I'd say Tales of Hearts is better but since Innocence has 3d battles, they're equal xD now, if only those patches were ready xD
The World Ends With You + Mario e Luigi 3 + Dragon Quest V. Post Merge: [time]1278016064[/time] Oh yeah, there's also Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey... Funny how you listed a ton of unimportant ones and missed the best =/
Suikoden Tierkreis is AMAZING! 108 Recruitable characters! Classic Turn Based system! Amazing "polygonal" 3-D-ish Graphics! XD
I was talking in terms of gameplay xD but I don't like the camera angle and too frequent enemy respawn in ToI.
The camera isn't an issue since it does what it does in every other Tales game (mainly the 3D ones, but that accounts for the bulk). It focuses on who you're controlling during battle, and is free to move on the world map. In the mean time, dungeon and town camera angles are preset and can't be moved. For the enemy appearance rate: they are generally very easy to avoid, and this has given me an excuse to not be under leveled. I'm still very interested in Tales of Hearts. The 2D fighting is a bit of a turn off since I like the versatility of a 3D battlefield, but I'll still give it a go.
The 2D brings me back to the old days xD but the movement is so fluid and the graphics so clean it can't be compared to older 2D tales games. Mostly the camera give me problems in the world map but that's most probably because the DS screen is too small =P I know because I've played Tales of the Abyss and it doesn't give me the same problem xD But, any tales games are awesome. Too bad most are either hard to find or not localized ><
