I wonder if anyone could prove whether or not you need toes by binding them up or something (anything but cutting them off) and just leaving them like that for a day. Then we can know for sure.

Lol I wasn't being as serious as you are :] just messing around...and I don't know about a jar (for sanitary reasons) but I can open my door with my toes..when I have an overload of food and no hands to open my door XD

ive broken a toe before. toes are a big part of your balance, and ability to run.

 

I have seen a guy who was born without arms (thalidomide baby) play, tune and restring a violin with his toes. I bet he thinks we "really need them"!
