How can you tell if there's no premeditated path unless you can foresee it? Imagine someone who has a phobia of the color red is lost and walking down a jungle path and they come to a T-junction. The left turn is lined with red flowers and the right turn lined with yellow flowers. That person, not knowing where they are going, will choose the right turn because they would be uncomfortable amongst all those red flowers. So they walk down and get caught in quicksand that was on the 'yellow' path. You could say that this person was fated to die, because without prior knowledge of the path they were taking, they couldn't use their free will to change their fate.

actually yes, they could have recognized the flowers as just flowers...
...sometimes the hardest way through the jungle is the safest

i believe the answer lies in the many alternate realities, universes and dimensions in the world of the Xmen because if anyone can teach us about time travel it is them. half of the characters are from the past, future, or an alternate dimension, universe or reality.

I think you missed my entire point there! :p There was no obvious difference between the yellow and the red flowers, the person in question just didn't like the color red. The choice that particular person made at that time is always going to be to go down the path (s)he fears less, leading to his/her death. Many things might have happened to change this, but the point is that they did not.

people should NEVER go back in time EVER! some people might not be around if you even lay on step in the past.

    1) you go back in time and kill your grandfather
    2) you become your own grandfather by creating your father.

Does that mean you will eventually go back and kill yourself?
so everybody is really there own grandfather/mother.
