your backgrounds are good i don't know if you make them your self if you do then well done cause they look nice but it is true to say that your renders don't look natural within the sig and just looked plonked on.
you really shouldn't take harsh criticism in a bad way you should embrace it and take on the points they make otherwise you won't get any better.
you need some harsh comment because to be honest this thread has got so nicey nicey and no one progresses because non of the more experienced sig makers post anymore and its just(no offense to anyone your all doing a great job) noobs just complimenting each other and get no where.

in earlier posts and the various incarnations of this thread when more experienced people where about you'd post something and have it ripped to peaces but then you'd take the points and read tutorials and make it better and if you are wise and use layers for each and every little thing you do it is easy to correct your sigs or change small bits to make it better.

and as i'm having a rant and i only want you guys to be getting better

@cjdogger please for the love of god sort your border out, i know you probably did it free hand but its a mile out of being symmetrical and its driving me nuts, also the square pictures you have in the top and bottom need to be blended in they really don't look right just sitting there protruding harshly, it would be easy just to turn down the fill on and eraser and shave the edges a bit.

    Re: The Signature Thread

I do make all my backgrounds. I usually make a layer and plunk the render on it and forget all te time, that I can duplicate the render...and the develop on it. I usually do then so fast...That's bad. Maybe that's my program. I do most of the time become absent minded about techniques I've learned, or I have a distraction and forget what I was doing. I'm about to do another sig right now....I've been getting requests from my friends on the private RO server I play on. So it helps me get better I guess...

I can't do all that stuff because it doesn't store history on paint.net...

well as a suggestion maybe save your work then at each stage of the process as a different file and then if your unhappy with it you can change it although i've not used paint.net but i'm guessing this will be something that is possible.

too small, can't see any detail so with all that you've got going on it just looks messy

its about the easiest thing to do in the world. i didn't even do much just some editing of some pictures i found on Google then put them all together.
it helps i think that i use photoshop, i only have to use a very small amount of skill to get something that looks good but they are basically glorified collages.

    Re: The Signature Thread

both of them look nice man, but the first one looks more detailed because of the blurry background, and the render blending in with the background. Great job man!!

Love what youve done with the render in the first one, I like it. Though the resolution doesnt look right in the top left corner of that cog and skull, looks a little pixelated and blurry, kinda like its been resized larger than it was.

Second one not so much, render looks too CGIish to me, its obvious the render has been cut from gameplay.

Nice sigs equity, I like how the cog looks like it's dried up with something, like blood?

Anyways, I almost forgot, this little siggy ad bar took me 3 mins, is it cute enough?
