no, it will slow down when you use any program that accesses the fonts folder (i.e any program in which you can change fonts) and will slow down the computer booting.

Oh okay. Can I delete fonts from the Gimp program in exchange for another one?

no, you have to delete them from the C:\windows\fonts folder. Don't ever delete the following:

    times new roman
    courier new
    system
    arial
    tahoma
    verdana

Any others you know your programs/system uses. If you aren't sure, move them to another folder and if there's no problems in a week you can delete them.

I use Paint.NET and GIMP. Loony's right, that's why some people recommend you delete all of the fonts you don't use. But keep the main ones. Everything uses Arial or Times New Roman. I mainly use Candara.

Cool...I think I won't mess with it then. I become a nervous wreck when I have to delete something that I'm totally unsure of... ;)

Before my computer got screwed, I had a FEW nice looking fonts in the fonts folder, but then my dad fixed my computer up because it wasnt starting, and ever since then, my computer has been a pain in the ass... lol

I like the sig as well. I haven't even begun to work on mine. I don't know what render I want to use. And I'm still trying to figure out how you get the render outside the border. ???

Make a box around the area you want to have color [using the rectangular marquee tool (M button)]. Make sure the background layer is unlocked, then have it renamed layer 0. then use magic eraser (E button) on the part of the sig you want to be transparent. Hope it helps :) BTW, I was using photoshop cs3.

I'm using GIMP but they seem to be "almost" the same. So I'll give it a shot right now on a simple render.
