Ive got a question about GIMP:
Im trying to make a plain render of Goku half metalish.
I mean Im trying to use this render
and make half of his body have like a metal effect and the other half stay the same. Any help for GIMP on how to make a metal effect? (Making him look like a half robot and half human) Thanks

The easiest way would be to duplicate the layer, apply the effect or filter to the top layer, and then erase half of it revealing the normal layer underneath.

in that case, find a picture of terminator or similar that looks similar to your picture of goku, then put the terminator layer on top of goku and erase half of it, then using some sort of blend tool blend or smudge it in so that it looks a little realistic. If your unfamiliar with GIMP then id suggest trying a few tuts out first to get the hang of it before doing something fairly advanced like this.

Yeah good thinking man.. Im actually getting use to GIMP now ;D but I will try a few tuts, and maybe I should look for a terminator pic.. I tried smudging many of my latest graphics to see what would happen, but smudging didnt really help.. Maybe it could work if i try it with this, or I'll try many other tools.. Thanks for the advice Al... Oh manny, nice graphic too

EDIT: Guys, I learned about many filters, and many different saturations, etc.

Heres a graphic that took me a while: I made Super Buu from DBZ as a terminator ;D



Tell me what you think about it.. Sorry if Im not so good, but this is a first actual graphic that I think looks cool..

looks ok but you can tell that the eye was added Point: its VERY obvious that you added the eye try smudging it in

Well I kind of edited from my old graphic: I made the background different by blurring it alittle, and I made the terminator eye look less like it was added on so I just added other effects, changed the color of it and used different tools to edit it...
