Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition i know he's still alive, he should be! uroboros might be dead but not him :'( billy and barry must be really old if there's any news from them.
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition Barry would be old, billy... Could be several things, one could be he did die in that forest (all those zombie's around...) or that he survived. Wesker did die, you can't tell me burning in lava and then blown up and the possibility that he can revive from that... Even Birkin couldn't do that with G
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition then you have miss the golden age for resident evil. I'm was a big RE fans, I play RE, RE2, RE3, Veronica, Outbreak, Gun Survivor, Dead Aim.... and i never like RE4..... and i hate RE5. RE now is dead to me.
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition I'm in it because the games still have a fair amount of quality, and the story. The games have changed, in reality...it's the same formula but instead of static backgrounds it's active with camera to match, the controls are the same...and there is more empahis on killing enemies than dodging them.
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition that is the change that i hate then most..... If i want to shoot zombie, i would play house of the dead.
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition hahah lol maybe wesker was heat-proof and will rise out of the lava as a huge cat lol sorry i'm too desperate for him to be alive >.< woow another biohazard fan! we should talk lol i personally don't like the outbreak series, gun survivor series, and other series (except the chronicles). i agree with hypnos. but it's not only the game that has changed, but even the story sucks now.
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition True..but I love seeing people's head's expload To be honest...I miss the flesh eating zombies, these parasitical monster's aren't the same...lucky I'm a fan of dead rising which has kept me sane And I still like the story for some reason, crimson, why do you dislike it?
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition you love seeing people's head's EXPLODE?! whoah isn't that too cruel... i love seeing zombies' heads explode but people... omg it's kinda' loose now
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition Well in movies and games it's always fun Zombie of course splat much easier LOL! Of course, I know in real life it's a horrible sight, just a story that my father once told made me realise...a shotgun point blank can remove one's face completly, now back to the topic. How is the story loose...it joins up better with 4, which distances it's self from the previous. If anything the chronicles games are more loose...Aneete birkin wanted to save the G virus, not stop it if I remember correctly...
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition It's not really the same formula. First of all, the old Resident Evil games were survival horror games. This means that you were given weapons with limited amount of ammo to spare. This simple game mechanic influenced the way the you played the game. For example, the small amount of ammo you acquired through out the game would mean you would either conserve your bullets on zombies or save them by trying to avoid them. With RE 4 and 5, the amount of ammo is overabundant throughout the whole game that you're really not forced to survive at all. You don't have that risk in running out of ammo. You don't have thoughts like, "Crap, I'm almost out and I don't know how I'm going to survive this." That to me takes away the fun and strategy of old Resident Evil games. 4 and 5 aren't really survival horror, they're more like action games. Secondly, the save system of the older RE titles are very different from the new ones. Yes, the typewriting aspect still remains the same in 4, but they come out more frequently in the newer titles. You don't even have to worry about having ink bottles in RE 4 to save while in the older titles in your first playthrough, you find yourself running out of them and using them wisely as you progress in the game. This also alters the way you played the older titles because the consequences of death meant that you had to replay the portions you had progressed when you last had saved. RE 5 doesn't even have the ink system. The weapons. You couldn't even upgrade or buy weapons in the older titles. You were stuck with any weapon you could find in the game. They did less damage and as already mentioned, ammo was scarce. In fact, you can carry more weapons in 4 and 5 than you could in the older titles. How many people do you honestly see using the knife in 4 or 5? They're pretty useless and I guarantee you that hardly anyone ever thinks of using them. Another formula that's completely changed in the newer titles is the general direction you're supposed to take. For instance in 4 and 5, you knew where you were supposed to go. Let's take for example the first Resident Evil game (REmake for a better example). For someone new to the series that have only played 4 and 5, they would be completely LOST because the game doesn't tell you where you're supposed to go. You're just given the task to explore the mansion and see what's ahead of you. You have to make decisions on where to use the Old Keys to open locked doors, you have to know what doors the Mansion Key will open, you have to solve certain puzzles to get certain items that will unlock the rest of the mansion. It's just very different gameplay compared to the linearity of the newer titles. You also had the options of saving or not saving certain characters that would alter the scenes/gameplay later on in the game. Zombies. The controls aren't the same either. You're very wrong about this. Aiming in the older titles was a pain in the ass. With 4 and 5, you have complete control of where you want to aim. It's no longer up or down to see if you're lucky enough to aim appropriately. Also, you have full control of where you move your character in any given area throughout the whole game unlike with the older titles. You did have control of your character in the older titles, but the camera angles would sometimes confuse you or misdirect you so that's an aspect of better control in the new action RE's in regards to character movement controls. The only thing that I can honestly say that the new RE titles have in common with the old ones is the story. The story has remained the same and that's what's great about it. It hasn't changed. Yes, the gameplay has changed a lot and the survival horror aspect of it is gone, but Umbrella, STARS, Wesker, and every other protagonist and antagonist of the series have remained the same and unaltered. There's twists, new revelations, progression, and the old tired cliches that RE is known for in terms of the story. I know it seems like I'm being a little bit too critical of the newer RE titles, but I'm not. It's just so you can get a better understanding that despite the newer titles being called Resident Evil, they're not really the same formula as you claim that they are. I'm sure I must have missed a lot of different examples, but I just don't have the time to continue writing. I enjoy the old gameplay formula a lot more because it makes the games more interesting, but I also like the new gameplay in 4 and 5. It's a shame Capcom won't probably make a new RE game for the older fans, but you really can't blame them when they have a very good selling formula that are 4 and 5. OH! And to answer the original question, I'm probably going to get it because I'm a fan of the RE series and seeing Jill & Chris together is a throwback to the old mansion days of RE 1.
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition sonic- I ignored the aiming completly because I found it easier than currently (I tend to miss head shots rather easy in 4 and 5...unless armed with shotgun, where's the older games I just sit and wait unless it's say a hunter or crimson!) The save system I also ignored, prehaps too many people complained and thus it got dumbed down... Your right, the newer games are more action based, I was think if the camera was reverted back and prehaps the ammo was limited (yeah I forgot about how limited it was...) then it would be simerlar to the classic re games. I don't think they would go back to that format though, the most hope we have is the archive re-hashes or going to silent hill hsattered memories. Your quite right about your points, i just see things differently and ignore some points where some fans would strangle me for (yeah, I said it before...and got my ass handed to me via forum replies ) BTW My ammo count in 4 was always in danger, it took awhile before I could pull away from the knife and towards the pistol-the other stuff just didn't last because I am trigger happy XD 5 I kinda exploited the whole "try an old chapter" because of the fact you can carry the weapons back and forth... That shouldn't be, but it is, should only let you go back once complete.
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and other biohazard related stuff... is it okay if i have changed the title of this thread >.<
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition my favorite is RE3, i play that the most. However i really wish i get to play RE0.
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and other biohazard related stuff... I absolutely love Code Veronica from what I've played from it, I hope to go back home and play it some more among other things. The only complaint I have towards it is the saving system. It's not because it makes it difficult to save, it's because I could be busy, in real life, or I might have to go somewhere in real life, and not be able to save. It may add to the survival aspect, but it's no where at all convenient for the player who might be busy. Being a mom, I'm extremely busy, I don't always have time to play stuff, I little short bursts of games when I can. But I can't do with with the older RE's because of the ink system. I love the scares, gameplay and all. Just not the save system. I'd also love more control over where I'm aiming, but that I can totally live without.
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and other biohazard related stuff... you haven't played zero?! omg you need to, you'll miss half of your life lol zero is quite horrifying. you'll need to create more molotovs. re3 is really good too. the remake is actually my favorite, i play it most, and re2 too, and uhh re4 too. i love resident evil >.<
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and other biohazard related stuff... It's designed for gamers, not people with lives That's why today's games have checkpoints in mind, to cater for people with such needs, personally it detracts from the quality...but non the less it's here to stay. Just play thru and sav when you make a fair amount of progress, if your good enough it can be beaten in a few hours. Story wise 3 is the worse, but the mechanics (like the dodge system) were a taste of what's to come... I preferred number 2 in fear factor, remake for making me swear out lound (DAMN CRIMSON ZOMBIES!!!!!!) and 4...it still scared me at times, even if action orientated (those regenerators...jesus). As they say in viewtiful joe..."JUST GO FOR IT!" And while we are at it, may I request any mods watching to move this out of sony section, the games are all over (but only on sega, nintendo, sony and microsoft at this point)
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and other biohazard related stuff... i know, but i dont have the system to play it..... I agree, the story isnt that good.... but its also the climax of the raccoon saga not to mention you get to play as Jill Valentine XD
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and other biohazard related stuff... ahaha you can really make me laugh hypnos it's not CRIMSON zombies, that's my username, it's CRIMSONHEADS lol i use the grenade launcher glitch to avoid them, infinite incendiary rounds! =D ohh those regenerators really scares the hell out of me! but i can still aim good with the scope. i hope the mods will not lock this, maybe change the title and my first post or move it in other section >.<
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and other biohazard related stuff... Got a wii, gamecube, or pc? If pc, just get the wii/gc emulator dolphin and hope it works I could be a pain and call them "v-acts" but each to their own I didn't have such a luxurary, the pal version doesn't have the glitch, it was mear timing with a shot gun and frantic "WTF OH DEAR GOD NO!" Also, they are smarter than you'd think, in one room upstairs in remake, it's circular, with a single zombie that I left as a crimson, I decided to do a "race" and because i shot his leg originally...he was a tad slower... But during a scene change he swapped directions and killed me, I lasted 3 mins because me and my little brother were too busy laughing before scream WHAT! This won't get locked, unless we have a picky mod watching BTW, in an attempt to revive the one I made about resident evil before...who's your fav of the tyrant series? Mine is the hypnos obviously as my avatar shows XD
Re: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and other biohazard related stuff... i though my hate to Wii Remote is well know in romulation XD.
