i have to admit that some of the new artiste are messing things up but i still dont think that the quality have droped... i guess different generation likes variant genres of songs and i guess this one like the current type.. i mean i dont like listening mus and i aint unserstand a shit what the vocalist is saying, but there are others who can really relax your mind or make you have a time of your life.. i might like kartll with all the rapping and vulgarslang, while others may prefer elephant man and some mayt like a wqhole differet genre..... if i am to say what type of music spoiling the music industry, and i dont want people to think im a hater its jus that is not my type, is rock.in my opinion, its like your little brothers and sister taking your mom`s pots and spoons out of the cupboard and comming besides you and hitting it in a nerve killing rythm. rock lovers, plz dont me angry with me its jus that its not my type of music. but i wont really go further in condeming it. i guess you all see rock music in a different perspective from me.. so i aint angry with yall. if i hear rock music, i does just beat out from the vicinity

Rock is what makes the world what it is right now, rock gave the world proper music, brought rise to superstars, idols
its rock bands who inspired the ones right now
its rock that rap singers "trying" to sing right now

You're comparing to different genres now... he asked if rock 'n' roll and rock had any differences, which they dont... it's just a label. I also never noticed the second page.

rap is crap, dont mean to sound like a hater but it doesnt make sense..... singing should be expressing your voice and hitting high notes not.... talking fast...

thank you blade 4506. thats what i hate.. i remember i turned on my television on a local chanel (67) and a roc vdio was playing, i descided to gave it a chance but it was so annoying, i turned it after the first litteral 4 seconds.. all i hear was a buch of guitars and drums playing in an unantagonistic fashion totaly without harmony. thats what i think and the television was even lud... so what do people prefer, hearing a beautiful voice like beyonce keri helson or rihanna hearing a set of old pots and pans banging in the hear totally gavin them a migrain

There are 5 bands in my area & they're immensely talented but they have basically 5 miles to work with! But it's the label company's fault; they control what the radio stations play & as a result no.1 hits aren't based on talent any more, they are based on what the labels want you to hear. Talent is pushed under.

    Technically Jazz started it all.

dhanash you don't really know what you're talking about, I don't know what bands you've been listening too but by saying modern rock is 'louder' than Rock 'n Roll music is kinda silly.

The reason why old rock music sounds quieter is because of the technology they were using. Now we have the technology to make bass sound more distinct and we have the power to make everything louder. To say that modern rock sucks is an ignorant statement. There's good bands out there, but they aren't mainstream so you have to dig it up. I usually find my fix for rock music in Europe and in the underground. There's a lot of good bands but people just can't find them.

It's all a matter of opinion, I know some people who aren't rock fans and enjoy rap music. That's okay, I guess. But each generation has their own taste of music. Like the 90's was grunge music, 50's were big bands and etc. Right now, kind of is hip hop and some crappy rock bands and country music (which took a huge step back). I see more rock bands becoming popular, and some bands that have a mix of both (look at MGMT and The Killers, they're damn good).

Sure nothing's going to sound like old Rock 'n Roll music. Not even bands that try to replicate it, I know Wolfmother and Airbourne replicate a few rock bands and they do a fine job. But that time passed, now we just have to look forward in mainstream music or ignore it.

You guys also have to count in the fact that you only like some old time bands because of nostalgia. I remember a few bands back in the 80's that I used to like, now I think they just.. suck.

Dhanash, alt rock is not noise. Every time I see you post in this topic, the less I find credibility in your posts.
